Hello stamping friends! Today, I am SO excited to share my projects with you for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are an awesome group of stampers from all over the world who come together on the second Wednesday of every month to share some creative inspiration and smiles from around the globe. You will definitely want to visit everyone to see their amazing projects. We hope you enjoy hopping along with us this month!
I was inspired by a swap card I received from fellow demonstrator Dawn Olchefske a few months ago, where she used the stamps to create a fun background. Creating your own patterned paper is so fun and easy. You can pick your colors to suit your project, too.
If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, I’m Anne Marie Hile from San Antonio, TX and I am so happy that you are visiting today. Welcome!
Our theme for the Hop this month is “The World Around Us” in which our specific focus is to share something that is happening around you! This is a great way to find some some creative inspiration. Here in South Texas, the calendar may say it’s fall but the weather has been a different story entirely. It has been HOT! We are finally looking to get a much needed cool down later this week (highs in the low 70’s and cooling off at night to the 50’s). When my husband and I moved into our home six years ago, the beautiful landscaped yard was a major selling point for us. We are both looking forward to enjoying the cooler weather outside on the patio this weekend.
*I’ve also shared all of the card measurements below along with a full supply list at the end of this post.
Color Combo:
Thinking about the cooler weather, I couldn’t help but grab the Banner Year Bundle! The “Happy Fall, Y’all!” sentiment is SO Texan. Haha! That little squirrel in the set is also something that reminds me of our yard. There is one little guy who likes to sit outside the window of my stamp studio occasionally. It’s pretty funny, especially when there is a kitty on the other side of the window.
I added in some Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper, and a couple pops of Brushed Metallic Cardstock to fancy things up a bit. That scalloped border from the Peony Dies is one of my favorites on so many projects. Pops of texture from the embossing and ribbon add some extra interest and I finished the card off with some sparkly details because…well, it’s kind of my favorite thing. :)
Here is a photo of one of the little squirrel friends who frequent our yard. They have actually become quite comfortable around us, probably because they know I’m a pushover when it comes to giving them treats. My dogs are obsessed with the squirrels, well I guess they are more obsessed with the possibility of CATCHING the squirrels than anything else. Hey, at least they get lots of exercise while trying.

Finally a peek inside the card. I kept it simple and just stamped a trio of images and room to write a handwritten note. That squirrel cracks me up with his crazy look on his face. He kind of reminds me of the little squirrel named Scrap in the movie Ice Age (without the big teeth).
