December 2020 - Stamping Sunday Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends! Today, I’m super-excited to share the December Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we share on the second Sunday of every month. Our theme for the month is “Holiday Table” and we are featuring projects to dress up your holiday table…even though 2020 keeps that holiday gathering pretty small.

I actually used this challenge to focus on some gifts for my friends and neighbors to share on THEIR holiday tables. Except for the one cranky neighbor next door…he’s getting coal from Santa this year. Haha! The Poinsettia Petals stamp set and coordinating Poinsettia Dies were perfect to add some beautiful festive detail to some candles and a bottle of wine.
I started out with some of the “Perfect Pillar” candles from Yankee Candle. I may or may not have a huge stockpile of candles in my house, so I thought they would be perfect to embellish for gifts. I simply layered Mossy Meadow Cardstock and Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper together and then wrapped around the candles. The measurements are listed below! I secured the wrap with Tear & Tape for a strong hold. Then I used the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and coordinating Poinsettia Dies to crate some beautifully layered floral accents. This took a plain ol’ candle to a fabulously festive decor piece that would look great on a holiday table or even a mantle.
Candle Wrap Measurements and Details:
  • Yankee Candle Medium and Large Perfect Pillar Candles
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock (for Large Perfect Pillar): 4” x 11”
  • Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (for Large Perfect Pillar): 3-1/2” x 11”
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock (for Medium Perfect Pillar): 3” x 11”
  • Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (for Medium Perfect Pillar": 2-1/2” x 11”
  • Merry Merlot Cardstock: stamp one large, two medium and two small poinsettias in Versamark ink and heat emboss in silver
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: die cut and emboss three large and five medium leaves, accent with Wink of Stella
  • Silver Foil: die cut four leafy sprigs
  • Beaded Pearl Accents
  • Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
  • Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon
These wine tags are so easy to make and take a basic bottle and turn it into a very “Merry Merlot”! (Sorry, I HAD to say it.) I used the same elements from the candle wraps and addd a stamped sentiment to a Stitched So Sweetly tag.

Wine Tag Measurements and Details:
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 3” x 8”, score on long side at 5”
  • Punch a 2” circle on the top of the tag to fit over wine bottle
  • Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper: 3” x 4-1/2”
  • Sentiment stamped in Merry Merlot ink on smallest rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
  • Merry Merlot Cardstock: stamp one medium and one small poinsettias in Versamark ink and heat emboss in silver
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: die cut and emboss one large and two medium leaves, accent with Wink of Stella
  • Silver Foil: die cut two leafy sprigs
  • Beaded Pearl Accents
  • Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon and Rhinestones
I hope you enjoyed these projects! Please continue along on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop to check out more awesome creative inspiration.
