When I get new products, I like to use the project samples in the catalog as a starting point for creative inspiration. There are SO many awesome ideas in the catalog and it’s a fun way to dig into those new products and start using them. I find as I start to make the sample, I will change up colors, layers and details to put my own spin on the project.
This Friendly Flamingo stamp set and coordinating Flamingo Dies are already a favorite! I just love the detail in the stamped images. Plus, you can’t go wrong with a pink flamingo, right?

Card Measurements and Details:
- Granny Apple Green Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Daffodil Delight Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
- Magenta Madness 2020-2021 In Colors Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
- Shimmery White Cardstock: die cut a 3” x 4-1/4” rectangle from Stitched Rectangle Dies, add watercolor wash using Water Painter and Daffodil Delight ink
- Whisper White Cardstock: stamp one flamingo in Magenta Madness ink, three leafy images in Granny Apple Green ink and three small flowers in Daffodil Delight ink, then die cut using Flamingo Dies
- Whisper White Cardstock: scrap to die cut one flamingo “feather” then stamp feather with the flamingo stamp in Magenta Madness ink, pop up with a Stampin Dimensionals on flamingo body
- Whisper White Cardstock (sentiment): 1/2” x 1-1/2”, stamp sentiment in Tuxedo Black Momento ink and cut either end at an angle
- White Bakers Twine and Rhinestones
- Whisper White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
- Magenta Madness 2020-2021 In Colors Designer Series Paper (inside card): 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Here is a little peek inside the card. I decided to leave the inside sentiment blank until I was ready to mail the card.
I initially started the watercolor wash on the first card using Highland Heather ink. I didn’t want it to go to waste, so I created a second card with it. For this card I used the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper for the background. The card still has that pop of pink but the Purple Posy in the paper adds a softer look. Instead of rhinestones, I colored pearls with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and added a Magenta Madness bow in place of the baker’s twine. The sentiment is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.
