Quite Curvy Kitty for PP533

Happy Sunday!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Ann is hosting our monthly Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.
I always have to chuckle at Clean-and-Simple Week, because it always takes me FOREVER to create a card for these challenges. They either come out too simple or just plain over-the-top, so I have to get to that “happy medium”.

Once I saw the theme for the challenge, I decided to (finally) ink up the Quite Curvy stamp set along with the coordinating Curvy Dies. Although I like the littoral birds in the stamp set, I wanted to keep it simple and skip the coloring this week. I thought it would be fun to pop in a simple kitty silhouette using the Cat Punch to make the card pop without making it overly complicated. Now, I do have a couple layers on this card but I think it still qualifies as CAS…well, for me anyway. Haha!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.

Color Combo:
You would never know it from the 2-1/2” hours it took me to make this card…but it really came together easily, once I finally decided what I wanted to do. I went back and forth with adding texture to the background and finally decided that the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder worked without being TOO busy.

For some little details, I added a simple piece of black & White baker’s twine and a Melon Mambo Heart punched from the Dog Builder Punch. Of course, the rhinestone collar was the perfect finishing touch for this pretty kitty.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Coastal Cabana Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 2”, stamp sentiment in Coastal Cabana Ink, die cut the detailed curve from Curvy Dies, wrap bakers twine around layer add to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Basic Black Cardstock: scrap to punch kitty using Cat Punch, add to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals and add 5 rhinestones
  • Melon Mambo Cardstock: scrap to die cut three hearts using Dog Builder Punch (2 for inside card)
  • Accent hearts with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Scrap of True Love Designer Series Paper for inside card
Finally a peek inside the card! I stamped the “Hello” sentiment from the Quite Curvy stamp set and added in a couple more punched hearts. I also added a little strip of theTrue Love Designer Series Paper because it was laying on my desk from another project and I didn’t want it to go to waste. It leaves the perfect spot to write a handwritten note to a friend.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple “Animals” Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday March 26th, 2021

  3. Loving the bling collar on your sweet kitty! I understand what you mean about CAS...it's either too much or not enough. I really don't know how others pull it off so effortlessly. As for your card it's perfect! I think what really made it work was the brick wall. Have a great week!
