Pampered Pets for PP540

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Laurie is our awesome host for the monthly Color Challenge.
As soon as I saw these colors, two ideas popped into my head: flowers or pets! Pretty random, right? As we just picked up our new foster puppy Cassie yesterday, pets ended up winning out. I’ve added a photo of her a little further down this post. She is ADORABLE and thank goodness she’s already adopted because we are already in love with her. She’ll be headed to Chicago at the end of the month!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
This card is a mix of some new products along with some older products. The Pampered Pets stamp set and coordinating Pets Dies carried over into the new Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog, which made this pet lover really happy. I also used the NEW Basic Border Dies and Checks & Dots Embossing Folders. I can already tell I’m going to be using both of those a LOT!!

The Playful Pets Designer Series Paper was just recently retired and the one thing I’m really going to miss is that you could cut out the dog and cat images right from the paper, which is what I did here. You could just as easily stamp and color the little pup, too. I also popped a little heart trinket on the dog’s collar from the retired Pets Trinkets. Even if you don’t have the paper or the trinkets, it’s pretty easy to find an alternative out there. I just had so much of the paper left, I really wanted to use it for this challenge.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Basic Black Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Real Red Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with the polka dot embossing folder from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folders.
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 3/4” x 5-1/8”, die cut left side using Basic Borders Dies
  • Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (retired): 1-3/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (retired): die cut a 2-3/4” circle from the Layering Circles Dies
  • Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (retired): die cut the dog using the Pets Dies, if you don’t have the DSP you can always stamp the image and color it in
  • Baker’s Twine from Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack and Matte Black Dots
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/4” x 3/4”, stamp sentiment in Real Red ink and punch a banner end on the left side
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment in Real Red ink and Hearts in Momento ink
  • Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (inside card, retired): 1” x 5-1/4”
Finally a peek inside the card! I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the recently retired Many Mates stamp set. I also stamped a few of the little hearts from the Pampered Pets stamp set and colored them in with Stampin’ Blends. Super cute and it keeps the party going from the front of the card!

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday May 14th 2021

  1. Anne Marie, your card is fabulous and you combined the papers together beautifully. I love the script one cut in a circle behind your cute little pup. Talking about cute little pups - let's talk about the star of this post! :-) What a gorgeous face. I am not in the least bit surprised she has been adopted already. No wonder you fell in love with her - she looks so happy!
