Our theme for this month is: Celebrations. There are so many reasons to celebrate throughout the year, so this was a fun theme to create with. At the start of a new year, I always like to spend some extra time creating a bunch of birthday cards because I never seem to have enough of them throughout the year. I was inspired to use some of my favorite new products that will be available to order starting January 4th in the Stampin' Up!® January-June Mini Catalog.
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my cards below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
I just LOVE rainbows so as soon as I saw the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and coordinating Brilliant Rainbows Dies I knew I had to have them! To make this bundle even more fun, there is the coordinating Sunshine & Rainbows 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper that can be earned for FREE with a qualifying order during Stampin’ Up!® Sale-A-Bration which also begins on January 4th, 2021.
This paper is just SO fun and cheerful! The sentiment on the front of the card is from another new stamp set in the Mini Catalog: Sweet Conversations. I just love the playful font and the sweet sentiment worked perfectly for my birthday theme. I added some texture to the die cut circle to help the rainbow pop a little more and it’s tough to see in the photos but I brushed the die cut clouds with Wink of Stella for some fun sparkly detail. The Pool Party Sheer Ribbon peeking out behind the circle adds some more fun texture without a lot of bulk and I added a trio of Silver Epoxy Essentials to accent the adorable rainbow.
Card Measurements & Details:
- Pool Party Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11", scored at 5-1/2" and folded in half
- Daffodil Delight Cardstock: 3-3/4” x 5”
- Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (Sale-A-Bration, rainbow pattern): 3-5/8” x 4-7/8”
- Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (Sale-A-Bration, heart): 4-1/4” x 1-1/2”
- Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die cut one 2-7/8” circle (aka: the largest circle) from the Layering Circles Dies, emboss using Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
- Scraps of Magenta Madness, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Cardstock to die cut rainbows from the Brilliant Rainbows Dies
- Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die cut four clouds from the Brilliant Rainbows Dies, accent with Wink of Stella (or as I call it: “Stink of Wella”…if you know, you know!)
- Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die cut the stitched banner from the Tasteful Labels Dies, stamp sentiment from the Sweet Conversations stamp set in Momento ink
- Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and Silver Epoxy Essentials
- Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (Sale-A-Bration, card interior): 3/4” x 4”
- Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4", stamp sentiment from Sharing Sunshine stamp set in Moment ink and Magenta Madness ink
Here is a look inside the card. I added the “Happy Birthday Sunshine” sentiment from the Sharing Sunshine stamp set. It just worked perfectly with the theme of the card. This is one of my favorite stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. And at only $16 (US) it’s really affordable, too. I’ve used it a LOT! I actually made about a half dozen of these cards to have on hand for upcoming birthdays and also made a few with no stamped sentiment inside to have “just because”. My goal in 2022 is to send more Happy Mail!
