Nothing’s Better Than for PP585

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Ann is hosting a super-fun Theme Challenge.
Don’t we all need a little more laughter these days? I just love Ann’s “Laughter is the Best Medicine” Theme Challenge this week. It’s always so much fun to open up some Happy Mail from a friend that instantly brings a smile to your face. I sure hope you will join us and play along!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
While diving through my stamp sets trying to decide what to use for this challenge, I had to stop when I got to the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set and coordinating Love You More Than Dies. This set is so darn cute and I don’t use it nearly enough. It features little chocolate, cocktail and cookie images and the coordinating sentiments are great. I don’t know about you, but cookies almost always make me smile and that’s how this cutie-patootie cookie card came about!

To add some extra detail to the cookies, I heat embossed them with Black Embossing Powder to make those chocolate chips stand out a bit more. I also randomly stamped cookies all over the Crumb Cake layer, then embossed the cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. It adds the most subtle texture which I love. This embossing folder is one of my favorites and sadly will be retiring soon. If you don’t already have it, it’s a good one to add to your papercrafting collection!
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Real Red Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, randomly stamp the cookies in Crumb Cake ink, then emboss the layer with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder
  • Real Red Cardstock: 3-3/8” x 4-5/8”, die-cut using the second largest scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contours Dies
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 2-5/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/2” x 3-3/4”, stamp sentiments in Momento ink
  • Basic Black Cardstock: scrap to die cut the word “cookies” from the Love You More Than Dies (TIP: add an adhesive sheet behind the cardstock before cutting to turn the die-cut word into a “sticker” to make it easier to adhere.)
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp 5 (or more) cookies in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Stamp the “filler image” in Crumb Cake ink. (TIP-I also colored in the “gaps" with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends)
  • Die-cut the cookies with the Love You more Than Dies.
  • Red Rhinestones and Black & White Gingham Ribbon
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): stamp cookie outlines in Momento ink, cookie “filler” images in Crumb Cake, fill in gaps with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, then stamp the hearts in Real Red ink using the Sweet Conversations stamp set
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a trio of stamped cookies, because cookies are always better when you have more than one, right? After I stamped the cookies, I felt like it needed a little something more, so I stamped some hearts using a stamp from the Sweet Conversations stamp set. If the recipient is going to enjoy all of that delicious cookie goodness, they fully have my love and support. Haha!

  7. Love your card, Anne Marie! My problem with that stamp set is that stamping cookies makes me want to EAT lots of cookies ;) Love how you stamped more cookies on the background layer and that gingham ribbon is the perfect accent.
