Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!
This week, LeAnne is hosting our Sketch Challenge.
Sketch Challenge week is always my favorite! Sketches are like a “blueprint” for a card layout and it’s always so fun to see all of the different cards that everyone comes up with. As usual, LeAnne created a fun layout and I know I’ll be using this one again in the future!
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Right now, I’m smitten withe the new Happiness Abounds stamp set and coordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies in the 2022-2023 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog! Such beautiful floral images and an array of sentiments perfect for so many different occasions. The Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper in this suite is absolutely gorgeous, too. The dies actually cut out many of the images in the DSP too, which is what I used for my card. I just love how the flowers and leaves are shaded so beautifully. I also added a soft watercolor pattern of the DSP to part of the background for a little more detail and I just love how it looks.
I also added a trio of the new Glossy Dots Assortment and some Basic White Crinkled Seam Binding for a little more detail. The Glossy Dots come in an awesome variety of colors: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party & Gorgeous Grape. Don’t ask me why, but I have somehow accumulated three packs (!!!) of those dots in my stamp studio, so I have a feeling you’ll be seeing them frequently. :)
Card Measurements & Details:
- Melon Mambo Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
- Basic White Cardstock: 5-1/4” x 4”
- Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 2-3/4”
- Flirty Flamingo Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 1-1/4”, stamp seytiemnt in Early Espresso ink and add some Flirty Flamingo ink around the edges with a Sponge Dauber
- Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper: die cut the flowers and leaves from the paper using the Blossoming Happiness Dies
- Basic White Crinkled Seam Binding & Glossy Dots Assortment
- Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
- Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (inside card): 3-7/8” x 3/4"
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I stamped a coordinating sentiment along with two leafy images in Early Espresso ink. Then I colored the leaves in with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and added a little strip of DSP to bring some more color inside the card. Looking at it a little closer, I don’t think I stamped the sentiment exactly in the center…but that’s ok. It just leaves a little more room on the top left to add the recipients name. Yeah, that’s it *wink, wink*! Haha! Those little imperfections just make a handmade card more special, right?
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our fun Sketch Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday May 27th, 2022.
