Sweetest Cherries for PP594

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, it’s my pleasure to be hosting our Theme Challenge
I selected a fun theme for this challenge: “Food and/or Beverages”. Basically anything you can eat or drink would work for this one. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting hungry just looking at that inspiration photo. Yum! I hope you will join us and play along this week!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
For this challenge, I was inspired to use the new Sweetest Cherries stamp set and Cherry Builder Punch from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. This is such a fun bundle! Not only are those cherries adorable but I always love a set with a BIG, bold sentiment. I created two cards with basically the same layout, one with a vertical orientation and one with a horizontal orientation.

The color combo features three of the new 2022-2024 In Colors and I just love the bright and cheery vibe. I have to say, it’s been a while since Stampin’ Up!® has had a turquoise in the color line-up and I’m SO happy to have it back again. I punched the cherries out from the Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper and even though it is tough to see in the photos, it really pops on the card! You can never go wrong when sparkle is involved!
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Sweet Sorbet Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11", scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4"
  • 2022-2024 In Color DSP (Tahitian Tide): 3-7/8” x 5-1/8
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/8” x 3-7/8", die cut scalloped edge (Basic Borders Dies) and stamp sentiments
  • 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper (Sweet Sorbet): punch 2 cherries
  • Parakeet Party Cardstock: punch 2 stems and 2 leaves, stamp detail on leaves
  • 2022-2024 In Color Bakers Twine (Sweet Sorbet) and In Color Matte Decorative Dots (Sweet Sorbet)
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4
  • 2022-2024 In Color DSP (Tahitian Tide, inside card): 3/4” x 5-1/8”
My second card uses a lot of the same elements as the first. Since I had a little more room on this orientation, I added an extra cherry along with a vellum circle behind the focal images to help “ground” them a little. Oooh, I’m just smitten with that Glimmer Paper. I just love the extra detail it adds!
I actually made this card on my Facebook Live on Friday, so if you’d like to watch a video with the details on how to put the card together, you can check out the video posted above. I realize if you are subscribed to my blog via email that video might not show up for you, so CLICK RIGHT HERE and it will take you to my YouTube channel to watch the replay. I’d love it if you’d subscribe to my channel while you are there, it’s still pretty new so I’d love your support. :)

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I kept the party going from the front of the card with another big, bold sentiment, a little strip of DSP and of course another sparkly cherry. I have a feeling I’m going to be using that paper a lot in the future. Haha!

  7. Two super cute cards, Anne Marie! Love those new In Colors together, the cherries look good enough to eat...happily our cherry tree is starting to produce and the ripe cherries are the same color as the paper cherries on your cards.
