Season of Chic Wreath for PP607

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the lovely Ann is hosting our Theme Challenge.
This “Fall Fun” Theme Challenge is a great way to get motivated to start creating for the Autumn season, if you haven’t already begun. I just love all of the beautiful photos in the inspiration graphic, don’t you? Grab a cozy sweater and a pumpkin spice latte and play along with us this week!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
My card uses the Season of Chic stamp set and Chic Dies from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. To say I’m OBSESSED with this bundle is putting it mildly. Haha! I just love that it features images for all 4 seasons, which makes it one of those super versatile sets to have in your collection.

I originally had a different design in my head for the leaves but just couldn’t get them to fit the way I wanted to on the layout. Ugh. I was about to throw my hands in the air and scrap the whole project when I looked down and saw the discarded leaves laying in a circular pile on top of my card components. And that’s how the inspiration to use the leaves to create a wreath was born!

The Timber 3D Embossing folder added the perfect texture to the background and the little pop of gingham pattern (Celebrate Everything Host DSP) just added to the fall vibe. I accented the card with gold elements to add some glitz and glam. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how this card came out and I hope you love it, too. :)
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Cajun Craze Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Crushed Curry Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Timber 3D Embossing Folder and add Crumb Cake ink around edges with a Sponge Dauber
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock: scrap to die cut rectangle from Scalloped Contours Dies

  • Distressed Gold Specialty Paper: scrap to die cut leaves from Chic Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp leaves, stamp the “insides” of the leaves off once to lighten the color and stamp the online of the leaves full strength
  • Basic white Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink and die cut with circle from Stylish Shapes Dies
  • Simply Elegant Trim (gold) and Brushed Adhesive-Backed Dots
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I added some leftover die-cut leaves from the front of the card that I didn’t want to go to waste along with a coordinating stamped sentiment. This card is perfect to celebrate a fall birthday and I can’t wait to mail it out!
