Hello there stamping friends! I’m thrilled to be blog hopping today with the Positive Inkers Design Team. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the globe who are super-excited to share our love of creativity. I’m so happy you stopped by today!
If this is the fist time you are visiting, please let me introduce myself. My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in San Antonio, Texas. Welcome!
Our theme for this month is: Non-Traditional Colors for Christmas Cards. I will admit, I was super-excited for this theme. I didn’t know what colors I was going to use initially but I DID know they would be bright and cheery because those are my favorite colors, no matter the season.
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my cards below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
I started with Polished Pink, which if you have visited me before is shocking, I know. *insert sarcasm here* Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay rounded out the trio. There is just something about these three colors together that is so eye-catching and just puts me in a good mood. Haha! I used the Cottage Wreaths stamp set and coordinating Country Wreaths Dies to create a fun and whimsical winter wreath.
I colored a bunch of rhinestones with Stampin’ Blends for little “holly berry” accents. That’s one of the things I really love about Stampin’ Blends. Not only can you color stamped images beautifully, but you can also create perfectly coordinated embellishments and ribbons in a snap. Talk about versatility! The rest of the card details are listed below.
Card Measurements & Details:
- Bermuda Bay Card Base: 4-1/4” x11, scored at 5-1/2" and folded in half
- Polished Pink Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4
- Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper (Host Exclusive): 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
- Polished Pink Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 2-1/2”, randomly stamp branch images from Cottage Wreaths stamp set in Polished Pink ink
- Bermuda Bay Cardstock: scrap to die cut the second largest scalloped rectangle from Scalloped Contours Dies, then trim off the scalloped edges with a Paper Trimmer leaving the “dotted” detail around the border
- Basic White Cardstock: 2-5/8” x 3-7/8”, emboss with Gingham Embossing Folder
- Granny Apple Green Cardstock: scrap to die cut one wreath “outline” and one wreath “filler” from Country Wreaths Dies
- Bermuda Bay Cardstock: scrap to die cut one bow from Country Wreaths Dies
- Polished Pink Cardstock: 2-1/2” x 1/2”, stamp sentiment in Versamark ink, heat emboss with white embossing powder and banner punch both ends with Banners Pick A Punch
- Rhinestones Basic Jewels: 12 small, colored with Dark Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends
I really like the extra dimension from the layered wreaths, don’t you? I glued the wreaths to the Basic White layer and added the sentiment strip and bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Inside, I added a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Basic White Cardstock along with a 3/4” x 5-1/4” strip of the same DSP from the front of the card. I’ll either add a Christmas sentiment or write a handwritten note when I get ready to mail it out. :)
Just for fun, I also made another version of the card with the "tried and true" holiday color combo of Real Red, Mint Macaron and Shaded Spruce. :) I hope you enjoyed my cards today! Please stop by to visit everyone on the hop and leave us a comment to say hello. We’d all love to hear from you and so appreciate you stopping by. If you are following the hop, my sweet friend Jo Blackman in the UK is your next destination.
We are also doing an Instagram hop today and I’d love to have you check it out. If you aren’t already following me on Instagram, you can find me HERE.
