Cottage Wreaths for PP616

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the always lovely Claire is hosting our Theme Challenge.
This “Give Thanks" Theme Challenge is so perfect for this time of year. I don’t know about you but I always need thank you cards and this one would work for that or it could even make a nice Thanksgiving card, don’t you think? Please join us over at The Paper Players and share what you make!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
As soon as I saw the challenge I was inspired to create my card with the Cottage Wreaths stamp set and coordinating Country Wreaths Dies. I haven’t really used Autumn colors with this set yet and felt like the time had come. And yes, I used the same pattern of He’s the Man Designer Series Paper on my card LAST week. As a matter fo fact the Early Espresso and Crushed Curry layers are the same as well. Go with what works, right? Ps: I can’t believe I’m using this much Crushed Curry lately. Who AM I??

I added a pop of Texture to the background with the Timber 3D Embossing folder and a little pop of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper to fancy things up a bit. I love that paper, it adds a little hint of shine along with the coolest texture. How about those little bitty leaves and acorns? They are so cute and the perfect Autumn accents for the wreath.
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Early Espresso Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Crushed Curry Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Timber 3D Embossing Folder and add Soft Suede ink around the edges with a Sponge Dauber
  • He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 2”
  • Distressed Gold Specialty Paper: 3” x 3”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-3/4” x 2-3/4”, stamp wreath in Crushed Curry ink
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp leaves and acorns
  • Early Espresso Cardstock: 1-1/8” x 3/8”, heat emboss sentiment
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 1/2"
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I added a leftover strip of DSP and attempted to stamp a little scene with the colors from the front of the card. Do I love how it came out? Meh, it’s not my favorite. But hopeully the recipient will appreciate my efforts. Haha!
