Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for our last creative challenge of 2023 over at The Paper Players!
This week, Claire is hosting our Color Challenge.
What a fun color combo to round out our challenges for 2023! I’m always up for some bold, bright colors and this combo is really fun. I sure hope you will join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!
*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.
For my card, I decided to share a sneak peek of a brand new bundle. The Rock Star stamps & dies will be coming out in the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog starting on January 4th. It’s just a fab suite of products, including the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper. I always love some good ol’ black and white patterns for their versatility. This is a fun bundle for masculine card, cards for teens…or really just about anyone who loves their tunes!
I added some texture to the Basic White layer with the splotches from the Stripes and Splotches 3D Embossing Folders. There’s also some Wink of Stella to add sparkly detail to the sentiment banner and the guitars. The Holographic Trio Specialty Paper adds a fun metallic touch too.
Here is another variation of the card. I used the star pattern from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper which I think pairs really well with the sentiment. I also narrowed the center panel to 2-1/2” x 5-/8” and embossed it with the stripes in the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folders. The embossing adds really cool texture that’s tough to see in the photo above. It’s a little bit “busier” than the original card but I like it!
Measurements and Details:
- Tahitian Tide Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Real Red Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
- Basic White Cardsotck: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” embossed with Stripes and Splotches 3D Embossing Folder and 4” x 5-1/4” card interior
- Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper (available January 4th, 2024): 3” x 5-1/8
- Holographic Trio Specialty Paper: 1/4” x 5-1/8” (2 pieces) and scrap for die-cut stars
- Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper: 4” x 1/2” card interior
- Basic White Cardstock: scraps for stamping / die-cutting
- Festive Pearls and Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a strip of DSP and coordinating sentiment. I made a dozen of these cards for team swaps because you can never have too many birthday cards in your stash, right?
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday December 15th, 2023.
This is also our last challenge with our wonderful 2023 Guest Designers. Suzy, Fran and Tara, thank you so much for sharing your awesome creativity with us this year. You will be very missed! :-(

This is too cool for school, Anne Marie and lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie, Your card really rocks! HaHa. This was such a unique use of the colors. So fun. I hope you have a fabulous holiday!
ReplyDeleteHello, Anne Marie! What a great response to Claire's color challenge! I like all of the "variations on a theme" (pun intended), but think the first one is my favorite. Using the black as the background with the silver trims really makes the guitars pop.
ReplyDeleteThank you for including me this year on the PP design team - all of your nice comments were greatly appreciated! I'll be seeing you on occasion in 2024 - have a wonderful holiday season!
Xoxo, Fran
Anne Marie, it was this card that made me add this set to my order this week! I love what you did with it. The bright pink and blue really do pop with that black and white DSP - it was the perfect DSP to add to your card.

Yowza, Anne Marie! What fun cards! You have used the challenge colors perfectly. My fave is the second card. I LOVE the embossing. As always, you ROCKED the challenge. Have a very Merry Christmas, my friend!
