Rock Star for PP672

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am thrilled to be your host for our Color Challenge.

A New Year means a clean slate. So I decided to do a fun BLACK and WHITE color combo with a fun twist. Add a pop of bold color to the mix. The color or colors are up to you…just have FUN! I sure hope you will join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

It’s no secret that I’m a little bit smitten with the new Rock Star stamps and dies from he new Stampin’ Up!® January - April Mini Catalog. I have been having so much fun plying with this set. The coordinating Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper is a fab mix of black and white patterns, too. I’m always a fan of black and white DSP. It has so many options. Keep it black and white, color it, mix patterns…it’s just so fun to create with.

My “pops of color” are Azure Afternoon and Highland Heather. I also added a little bit of Smoky Slate to ground the colors a bit. I originally added silver foil in place of the Smoky Slate. It was a little too flashy, even for me. I added extra texture from the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder, some flash from the stars cut from the Holographic Trio Specialty Paper and Wink of Stella for some added sparkle.

I mentioned recently on a Facebook Live video that I really wanted to do a purple guitar because it reminded me of Prince, who is a total rock icon. I actually met Prince once…on an elevator in a hotel in Columbus, Ohio. So random, right? I cracked a joke and made him (and his 2 bodyguards) laugh. He was really nice and really short…but he was wearing GIGANTIC shoes. Haha!

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a strip of black cardstock and two fussy-cut speakers from the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper. Lots of room for the handwritten sentiment. I made a bunch of these cards for a demonstrator swap, too.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 19th, 2024
