Blog Awards and Blog Candy

Hi there and Happy Monday to you! I wish I could say that my week has started out well, but I am currently battling a nasty cold, blech! I felt a out of sorts yesterday and by the time I went to bed, it was clear that I was getting sick. Not part of my plans this week either. Grrr! Anyhoo, I don't have a card to share today but wanted to take the time to thank some folks who have been so sweet to share blog awards with me. PLUS, if you hang around to the end of the post there is some BLOG CANDY waiting there! Yahoo!

That's a lot for my stuffed-up head to handle today, so I am just going to share one "crafty quirk" with you:   

-Whenever I finish a project, I always have to clean my desk off completely. Right down to wiping it off with a Clorox wipe! (but ONLY an orange-scented Clorox wipe, they are my favorite!) Even if I am going to immediately start another project. Everything must be put away in it's home first! Nine times out of ten, I end up dragging the same items out again, but at least I know where they are. 


I'm also supposed to share this award with 8 more blogs. I always hate that part, because I can't just pick 8. So here is what I'm going to do. If you are reading this post...I am bestowing this award on YOU! Then I can spread the bloggin' cheer to everyone! :)


Now, about that BLOG CANDY!! Instead of giving a bunch of treats away all in one pop, I am going to share small "bites" of candy at a time. I think that is so much more fun that way. Today, I am offering up 4 yards of ribbon (3 are from the Occasions Mini catalog) to one lucky reader. You will receive: 1 yard of Daffodil Delight Pom Pom Trim, 1 yard of Poppy Parade Stitched Poly ribbon, 1 yard of Rose Red Seam Binding and 1 yard of Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding. Ps: there will also be a handmade card in the package, too. I just don't know which one yet. :)

Stylish Blogger Award

The other day I was bestowed an awesome bloggin' award from the fabulous Nance Lempinen-Leedy. I KNOW, I was pretty excited, too. Nance is not only one of the most amazingly, talented stampers out there but she is super-sweet, too. Her positive energy is absolutely over-flowing! Thanks so much Nance, you made my day!

Hmmmm, so 8 things about me, huh? Here goes...


1. We have over 20 clocks in our house, yet I'm always running about 5 minutes late.   
2. I am completely addicted to Reese's Peanut Butter ANYTHING! My favorites are the holiday themed Reese's, like the pumpkins, trees, Easter eggs, snowmen...ugh, I'm hungry just thinking about them!
3. I love NBA basketball, especially my beloved Spurs. As a native New Yorker, I will always root for the Knicks, though. Maybe one day they will have a come-back...maybe?? ;)
4. I have naturally curly hair, but I straighten it every day. 
5. I love to swim, but only in a pool. Swimming in fresh water kind of creeps me out, especially the ocean. I was knocked under by a wave once, while on vacation in Florida. I don't think I have ever recovered from the experience. 
6. I am a huge fan of The Dave Matthews Band...HUGE! I have seen them in concert too many times to count and have been lucky enough to meet them twice. My friend Melanie is probably the only person who comes to mind that is a bigger fan. I had to give her the shout-out or she would probably come after me. :)
7. My favorite drink at Starbucks is a *grande,soy,white chocolate mocha, no whip cream, extra hot, with one pump of sugar-free hazelnut syrup*...yup, I'm one of those people you get stuck behind in line, haha!  
8. The strangest pet I have ever had was an iguana. Well, technically it was my husband's iguana, while we were dating/engaged but, I took care of him alot while Dave was deployed. That lizard was a mean little bugger, I don't miss him.

Bloggin' Award!

Just the other day Kathy (The Lucky Stamper) was sweet enough to give me this Cherry on Top Award. Thank you so much, Kathy, for being so sweet to think of me! Stop by and visit Kathy's blog, too. She has some amazing projects to share and you will absolutely fall in love with her sweet puppy, Lucky. I know more then a few people who are just smitten with him! :) 


As a recipient of this award I have a few little objectives to complete. First, thank the person who gave it to me, with a link to their blog. (check) Then, post the award. (check) Now share three things about yourself, or three things you like to do. Finally, pass the award to five more people. 


Okay, three things about me: 
1. My love of creating with paper all started with my "sticker collection" back when I was in 3rd grade. The sticker collection had a brief come-back in 2001 when I really got into scrapbooking (scary "sticker sneezes" all over my pages...haha). Now, that little, okay huge, collection consists primarily of stamps, patterned paper and ribbon.


2. I could eat potatoes (cooked any way at all), edemame, grilled cheese sandwiches and apples EVERY day and never get tired of them. I will always pass on the pickles and mustard, though...blech! 


3. I have two really BIG fears...clowns and ostrich (yes, the giant birds). How is THAT for a random fact?? 


Now the daunting task of picking only 5 people to share this with...that is really a challenge. There are so many great blogs out there, many I visit almost every day.
