You Rule for Paper Players #141

Hello there! It's time for another challenge over at the Paper Players! This week, I am the challenge hostess with a fun mix of colors that I hope you will enjoy. Baja Breeze is one of my favorite Stampin' Up "blues" and I am sad it will be retiring soon.
I decided to finally ink up the You Rule stamp set from the SU Spring Catalog. It coordinates with the new HUGE rhinestones, too. This is no joke...that is some big bling! I didn't have any patterned paper that had all of the colors together on it, so I decided to make my own using my (very neglected) Circle Circus stamp set. I randomly stamped the images and then embossed it for some added texture. I want to give an extra special shout out to my fabulous friend Rita for helping me out with the layout for this card. She always has great advice and I'm so lucky to have her as a friend for so many reasons. All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of my post.
Please join us this week over at the Paper Players! The challenge is open through Friday, April 19th at NOON (PDT). Check out what the rest of the Design Team created with this week's challenge:

Before I go, I have had a few people ask about little Abby, so I wanted to share a photo of her. She has become quite the little sass and she is already 9 months old!

Have a HAPPY day! :)

Hello Foxy for Dynamic Duos #48

Hello there stampers! Well, after a hectic couple of weeks, I am so excited to be back over at the Dynamic Duos challenge. This week is "Soft and Subtle" week with a fab combo of Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie

I did a little paper piecing and watercoloring on the Hello Foxy! single stamp. I've never seen a blue and orange fox either...but for the sake of this card and the color challenge. let's pretend they actually exist. Haha! I think this is such a fun image!

I dressed up my "foxy lady" with a double bow, a simple button and some black pearls for her nose and as a decorative accent. The supplies I used are listed at the end of the post.
Please join us this week at Dynamic Duos! The challenge closes on Thursday, April 18th, at Noon (PST). The rest of the Design Team created some fun projects with the colors this week, too. Stop by and say hello:

Have a HAPPY day today! :)

Recycle it! for Paper Players #140

Hello and Happy Sunday to you! This week at the Paper Players, the fabulous Nance is our hostess with an awesome theme challenge for us: Recycle It!
For my card, I used two re-purposed items. First, I'm not sure if you know that Stampin' Up! has a cool new monthly paper crafting kit called Paper Pumpkin. You can read more about it HERE. Well, long story short, the fun kit comes in this cute orange box and the contents are wrapped in Pool Party tissue paper. That was pretty much the inspiration for my card. I used that tissue paper to create that fluffy flower. I started by punching out 8 circles using the Scallop Circle punch.

Quick Tip: Punches do not cut through tissue paper really easily. So I just put the tissue over a piece of card stock to make punching them out a little easier. Added bonus, you have some extra punches to use on another project (or for a class or a club). It could be a time saver if you are organized like that. I am not. Ha!
After crumpling up the tissue paper, I layered all of the punches on top of each other and popped a mini brad through the center to hold them together. Then I added some Dazzling Details glitter glue to the edges of the flower for a little extra sparkle.

My second re-purposed item was an old pair of jeans. They were a favorite pair, so I figured they could live on in a stamp project. I used them for the scalloped border. That cute sentiment is from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I love it! Obviously this is not a card I plan to mail. This will be one I give in-person or add to a gift bag to dress it up. The rest of the supplies I used are listed at the end of my post.
Please join us this week over at the Paper Players! The challenge is open through Friday, April 12th at NOON (PDT). Check out what the rest of the Design Team created with this week's challenge:

Buttoned Birthday Flowers for {PP #139}

Hello there and Happy Easter to you (if you celebrate the holiday). It is time for another fun challenge over at the Paper Players. This week, the lovely and talented Jaydee is our hostess with a "Tic-Tac-Toe" challenge. Pick a line across, down or diagonally on the board pictured above.  Or if you are feeling REALLY adventurous...go for every square on the board! Ha! We would just love it if you would join us and play along.
I decided to create my card with the pink and green colors, birthday card theme, using pearls as an accent. Although, there are SO many fun possibilities with this tic-tac-toe challenge, don't you think? I also used Rita's awesome sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge for inspiration.
The Button Buddies stamp set is one of my all-time favorites! So many fun images, for a variety of occasions. I think it is one of those sets that everyone should own, because it is really versatile. I went with a polka dot theme for my card...polka dots are just plain F-U-N! I dressed up the image with some Bitty Button flowers, accented with some pearls. I added texture with the embossing folders, ribbon and buttons. All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of this post.
Please join us this week over at the Paper Players! The challenge is open through Friday, April 5th at NOON (PDT). Check out what the rest of the Design Team created with this week's challenge:

Oh, Baby for Paper Players #138

Hello there! This week at the Paper Players, I am the challenge hostess. Eeek! I created a sketch that I really hope will inspire you to play along with us. I should post my hand-drawn draft of the sketch when I came up with the idea for it. You would crack up at how messy it was. I can't draw a straight line without a ruler. It is pretty scary!
I just got word that a good friend of mine is expecting a "wee one", so I wanted to make her a congrats card. I just received a huge box of stampin' goodies, including the Pop-Up Posies Embellishment Kit from the Spring Catalog. It's a cool kit with flowers, brads and other embellishments to dress up your projects. I have seen SO many fun ideas with this kit. The colors of the cut flowers were the inspiration for my project.

So, I know on the sketch I created I had a sentiment added to the banner...BUT the sentiment is part of the main image. I decided to layer some ribbon banners for some added texture. I went a little "sparkly-happy" but if you know me, that is truly NOT a shocker. Ha! I love the bling-bling! All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of this post.
I would really love it if you would join us this week at the Paper Players and give my sketch a try. I am always SO inspired by the projects that are shared week after week on our site. Please stop by and visit the rest of the Design Team, too. They really created some amazing projects this week. Our challenge closes on Friday March 29th at Noon (PDT)

Layered Hearts for Paper Players #137

Hello there and Happy Sunday to you! This week at the Paper Players, the amazingly awesome Ann Schach is our hostess with a CAS (clean and simple) sketch to try.
This sketch has SO many possibilities! I know this is going to be one I use a lot! I needed a card for a friend simply to tell her how great she is, so I pulled out two of my favorite things, Melon Mambo card stock and Silver Glimmer paper, and got to work. I added some dimension with the embossed elements and popped up the punched pieces as well. I love the little chevron pattern on the heart...I am obsessed with chevrons lately. All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of this post.
Please stop by and join us this week at the Paper Players! The challenge is open through Friday, March 22nd at Noon (PDT). The design truly created some beautiful projects this week as well. Stop by their blogs and say hello, I know they would love it! :)

Before I go, I just wanted to share a photo of my boys all decked out and ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day today! Aren't they cute?

Floral Feel Goods for the Paper Players #136

Hello there stampers! Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are enjoying your day today. This week at the Paper Players, our very own Nance is our hostess with a fab color combo to play along with. I'm so excited to be back playing along after taking last week off with a nasty cold. Aren't these colors gorgeous together? Wowza!
I was immediately inspired to use the Secret Garden stamp set and matching dies (from the Spring catalog), simply because I have been neglecting them since I bought them. I paired them up with the sentiment from the Feel Goods set (also from the Spring Catalog) and got to work on the layout. I LOVE the font on that stamp set! The flowers needed some extra pop, so I added some Smooch Pearlized Top Coat to accent them, along with some pretty pearls. All of the edges were slightly sponged with some Crumb Cake ink as well, for a little bit of a softer "feel". All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of the post.
Please join us over at the Paper Players this week. The challenge is open through Friday, March 15th at Noon (PDT). The rest of the Design Team whipped up some pretty projects this week, as well. Be sure to stop by and say hello. Have a HAPPY day today! :)

Oh Happy Day for {DD #43}

Helloooo there, stamping friends! Well, that was a lengthy hiatus I took from blogging, wasn't it? Yikes! Long story short, I got really sick last weekend with some cold/flu-like illness which knocked me out for the count. Honestly, the LAST thing I was thinking about was being crafty, in between sneezing, fevers and just feeling icky. I'm not 100% yet, but yesterday I did get into my neglected craft room to attempt a project.

This week at Dynamic Duos, we have a soft and subtle color combo which features two of my favorites: Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.
When I saw this sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches blog, I was hooked! I LOVE layouts with repeated elements, especially in 3's. I did move my sentiment from where it was placed on the sketch, because it seemed to fit on my card.
I wanted to create a clean card, focusing on the colors, so I decided to use the Floral Fusion die for the focal images. I use this die A LOT! I embossed the Pool Party layers on the flowers and dressed them up with some coordinating brads. I felt like it needed a little more, so out came the pearls. Honestly, it is not my favorite card EVER...but I made it under the influence of cold meds, so that alone has to grant me some forgiveness...I hope! :)
Please join us this week at Dynamic Duos! The rest of the Design Team has created some gorgeous projects for this challenge, so please stop by and say hello. The challenge is open through Thursday, March 14th at Noon (PDT). Have a HAPPY day!
