Well Said for PP424

Happy Sunday! This week at The Paper Players I am thrilled to be hosting our first color challenge of 2019. I absolutely love this cheery color combo and I hope you do as well. I sure hope you will check out the challenge this week and play along!
One of my favorite bundles in the new Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog is the Well Said stamp set and coordinating Well Written Framelits Dies. I just love how you can mix up the stamps and Framelits to create phrases in mixed fonts. There are a LOT of options for this set, too. It really is a “must have” to create cards for any occasion. Plus there are some fun shape Framelits in the set as well, like the leaves, butterfly and flowers.

For my card, I really wanted to focus on keeping the layout pretty clean to showcase this beautiful bundle. In addition to the challenge colors of Grapefruit GroveDaffodil Delight and Pool Party, I used Granny Apple Green as my fourth color. That color really pairs well with so many colors, I love it! I added the sentiment to a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits to make it the focal point of the card.
One tip: I did add some Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to the cardstock before I cut out the “happy” sentiment and the little flowers. It made it SO easy to stick them to the card, without having to use liquid glue. Liquid glue can get a little messy when you have smaller “bits” so those adhesive sheets are amazing. Then, I added Mini Stampin' Dimensionals behind the flowers and also added Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the circle to pop them off the card a bit.

I also colored the Rhinestone Basic Jewels with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker to bring in a bit more of that color. Since the markers are alcohol-based, it is super-easy to create rhinestones or pearls in any color you’d like.
Finally a quick look at the inside of the card. I used another sentiment from the Well Said stamp set along with a couple butterflies from the Beauty Abounds stamp set.

So Hoppy Together Calendar for PP423

Hello and Happy New Year! I now things have been quiet around here lately. I took some time to just enjoy the holidays and spend time with the ones I love. Now that we are officially into 2019, it’s time to get back on track.

To start things out, I’m excited to share that we have returned for another fabulous year of challenges over at The Paper Players. This week, Ann is our fabulous hostess with a fun theme challenge: Crazy About Critters. So bust out those dog, cat, frog, penguin, unicorn, llama stamps….ok, basically any animal will do. Have fun!
I have been making calendars to send to my customers to send along with their new Occasions/Sale-A-Bration catalogs. I wanted to make a few more to send out to some friends and this week’s theme was all the inspiration I needed.
Since I know y’all are going to ask, HERE IS THE LINK to the site where I purchased the calendars. For my “critter” I decided to use one of the frogs in the So Hoppy Together stamp set. This set is available for FREE during Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order. You can find more info about Sale-A-Bration by clicking HERE.

I was super excited to break out my Stampin’ Blends for this little guy. So excited that I forgot to color in his eyelids. YIKES! You probably wouldn’t know that if I didn’t mention it, but now that I did, you can’t miss it, right? Sigh. I’ve listed all of the supplies I’ve used below, but if you have any questions, please send me a message.
So, let’s talk about how this came together. I’ll list all of the measurements below. You start out with a 4-1/4” x 11” card base, scored at 5-1/2”. Inside the card base you add a 4” x 4” piece of cardstock, scored at 1/2”, 2” and 3-1/2”. The photo above illustrates how to fold and adhere it inside the card base to create an “easel” to keep the calendar propped-up. It helps with the weight of the calendar to keep the card upright. Shout-out to my awesome friend and upline Erica for this tip. :)

Card Measurements:

  • Melon Mambo Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Melon Mambo (inside of card) - 4”x 4”, scored at 1/2”. 2” and 3-1/2”
  • Whisper White (embossed) -  4” x 5-1/4”
  • Melon Mambo (behind DSP) -  2-3/4” x 5-1/4”
  • How Sweet It Is DSP - 2-1/2” x 5-1/4”

I sure hope you will “hop” on over to The Paper Players this week and join us for our first challenge of 2019! You can link up your creation until Friday January 11, 2019 at Noon PST. Please stop by and share some love with the Design Team this week. We are SO EXCITED to welcome Su and Wanda as our new Guest Designers. I’m looking forward to stamping alongside these amazing gals in the coming months.
