Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #63: Easter

Hello there and Happy Tuesday to you! It's time for another great challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments! This week we are focusing on an EASTER theme. With the holiday less then two weeks away, it's about time to get those cards ready to mail and we want to see what you create. Please HOP on over and join us! :)
For my card, I used the Easter Blossoms set. (This set has seen a LOT of ink since I purchased it. Wow!) Ever since I saw the challenge, I had the idea stuck in my head that I wanted to make a wreath out of Easter eggs. If you have visited me before, you may know that cutting little images out is NOT my favorite thing, so I'm not sure why I went with this idea. Haha!

Each egg was inked up in a soft, pastel color then re-inked in Versa-mark. Then, I added some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat-embossed them to add a little sparkle. Tiny pearls were the finishing touch for each egg. (Click on the photos for more detail.)
I saw a cool idea for "double-embossing" over on Ann Clemmer's blog (click her name for the link) recently and wanted to give it a try with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. I embossed the frame the same way as the eggs. Then, I just rubbed my Versamark ink pad over the polka dots behind the wreath to give them some shading. By the way, that is Crumb Cake and was INTENDED to be (the lighter color) Sahara Sand. Ugh, it is NOT the first time I have done that either. Oh well!
Finally, here is the finished inside of the card. I originally stamped, embossed and cut FOUR of each color egg and wasn't going to let them go to waste. Not after all that cutting...NO way!
Well, there you have my Easter creation for the theme challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I hope you like it and I REALLY hope that you can play along with us this week! You have until noon on Monday, April 18th to link up with us.

Thank for stopping by today to visit! Before you head out, please leave a comment to say hello. I hope your week is off to a great start. Have a HAPPY day! :)

  3. Ann Marie,
Love your Easter card and wow you sure put alot of work into it too!
I love your pastels, and the touch of pearl on each egg is perfect. Your inside is as pretty as the outside. Great card.
Cutting is also NOT my favorite and I have the absolute hardest time on anything 'round'... wouldn't be cool if there was an egg shaped punch to match? Guess I'll stick to that chocolate bunny. Hugs.

  15. I would never have thought of a wreath of eggs - but it looks just wonderful. The subtle colors work so well and you can see how much work you have put into it. (BTW - I found your card on my craft desk after I had wrapped your package, so it is stuck on the back of the parcel. LOL!)
