Hand Stamped Sentiments #80-All Stitched Up Challenge

Hello there and Happy Tuesday to you! This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are "gettin' stitchy with it"! Can you sew? Or are you like me and fumble with a needle and thread? There are so many ways to add STITCHES to your project, whether it is with a sewing machine, a needle and thread, rub-on's or a gel pen. Get creative and have some fun! We can't wait to see what you create!
I want to preface this post by mentioning that I really DO own stamp sets OTHER then Button Buddies. Although, you wouldn't know it by how often I have been using that set lately. *sigh* I think it is a REALLY versatile set...and I keep wanting to ink it up. I promise to give it a rest after this post. Then there is that Just Add Cake DSP. Yup, I tend to use that a LOT, too. So far from one pack of DSP, I have created over 21 cards and 5 boxes! There is still a ton of paper left for more projects! Now is a great time to stock up on DSP as Stampin' Up! is having a Buy 3 Get 1 Free promo, too. Check the tab at the top of my blog for more info!
For my stitching, I simply ran some Baker's Twine through the Dotted Ribbon Scalloped Border Punch. Easy-peasy! If you are like me and CAN'T sew...this technique makes you feel like you can actually master a stitch or two. (Thanks to Ann Schach for the inspiration for this idea!) I was recently commissioned by a friend, to make some "thinking of you" cards for folks she knows...going through some tough times. She wanted fun colors and lots of textures...nothing dreary. I hope this card fits the bill. I will find out later today if she likes it. *crossing my fingers*

Finally, the inside of the card...with a simple sentiment, to brighten someones day:
I sure hope you will play along this week with your "stitched up" creation. Real stitches or "faux"...we want to see 'em. Please hop on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has whipped up this week. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day!! :
PS: I also have a beautiful new blog design thanks to my wonderful friend, Lesley! Click her name to visit her blog. Thank you Lesley, you are the BEST!!

  1. Sweet! Love that stitching--I always forget about doing that with that cute little punch. I am sure your friend (and hers) will love these cards!

  2. What a great card and you can use Button Buddies all you want, love the little images with their buttons. The stitching idea is great, TFS. Love it.

  3. What a fantastic way to use that punch! I have trouble stitching too-so adding that punch to my list. This card is bright and cheery-your friend will love them.

  4. Anne Marie, This it a very pretty card. I like how you added the rhinestone sparkle to the flower centers and how you added the stitching using the holes the punch made for you. Great idea!

  5. GREAT blog design! So pretty.
Love this wonderful card too....and it looks like fabulous "sewing" if you ask me! Pretty papers, image....everything!

  6. I love the header! It's so you. Okay now you've made me want the Button Buddies stamp set even more and the dsp. Great combo! I'll have to try stitching on the dotted scallop ribbon border. It add so much. Another AM original I have to see in person.

  7. wow...love this one...all those textures and elements...fabu!

  8. Absolutely adorable card, A-M! The stitching is just perfect! Thanks for the sweet shout out, too! I LOVE the new blog design. Lesley is the Best!

  9. So adorable AM. I love this set and wish I had got it! Thanks for the sweet shout out...I am so happy you like your new banner my friend.

  10. Anne Marie, your friend will love this card. The dsp, the design, the layering - beautiful. I too borrowed that stitching idea from Ann Schach; adds a little "punch" to the punch. And I totally understand about the stamp set. Delicate Doilies is the one I keep picking up because it can fit so many projects.

  11. This is so cute! Love the layers, colours and stitching!

  12. Gorgeous card!! The little flower buttons are just the sweetest. I am like you I will decided I really like a stamp or an image and will use it over and over for a while.

  13. Oh this is so much fun - I love how you've stitched through this Dotten Ribbon Border - It worked perfectly for this challenge. I was hunting for things I could use and opted out with plain old faux stitching - although I was a true needle crafter in the past.
Anyway - wonderfully fun card - both inside and out! I also LOVE how you've added the rhinestones in the middle of the flowers - I've used the pearls, but never the rhinestones - duh!!!
    Have a great day.

  14. Great new blog header!!! :)

I love the button flowers with the bling on top!
Hmmm, I've been saying to myself I have to try to use my sewing machine again...maybe this challenge is a good reason to do so!!!

  15. Love love love this one! So bright & cheery! Orange is my absolute favorite color & Just Add Cake dsp is one of my faves. I can't sew at all, but can cross stitch. Want to get that border punch so I can do just that on my cards also. Can't blame you for using the button buddies again. It works so well for all kinds of cards.

  16. Very pretty Anne Marie! Love the colors and great stitching.

  17. Oh... I got lost for a minute. You've moved thing around! I love the new header; Lesley did a great job. :) Where does she find the time?

I think your friend will like your card; it's very cute and has lots of fun texture. I'm taking a bit of a break from Button Buddies as I've made 12 cards with it in the last few days and that's enough for a while!

  18. LOL! How could we ever get tired of seeing Button Buddies when you do such fabulous things with it??? I adore the bling on top of the buttons!! Love your stitching too! Great card!

  19. Anne Marie such a sweet card. Love your button flowers. (i just Love the Button Buddies set)and sewn border is fantastic. I first saw Ann Schach do that, but I have yet to attempt it. Just beautiful! Hugs.

  20. Tha is a great stamp set and what a great card. Just love that little vase.

  21. I love this DSP! the stitching is amazing. I wouldn't have thought to do the x's. Very creative. Love the button buddies set too. So cute!

  22. Oh My GOODNESS!! I love your stitching, I have done the "x" stitch before but connected them all and they look messy, but yours is so clean and sharp! LOVE IT!!! I have GOT to get that stamp set- Ugh, thanks for making me even more poor!

  23. Check out that stitching! I love it! I need to give this a try. Great card!
