My inspiration for the layout of the card came from the fabulous Karen Giron. She featured a card with this sketch on her blog recently and I was completely inspired to give it a try! To say this card is "thick" is an understatement. In the words of my sweet hubby when he picked it up: "This one is going to require a LOT of extra postage!"
In my opinion, the perfect compliment to anything pink is anything that sparkles! So copius amounts of Iridescent Ice Embossing powder adorn this creation. I rubbed the Versa-Mark stamp pad all over the Rose Red card stock pieces...and a little on some Pretty in Pink pieces to accent the border punch...and shook that glittery goodness everywhere. It was all fun and games until it got in my eye...OUCH!
I used my new Stripes Embossing Folder on one of the layers of DSP and the Paper Crimper on the cupcake "wrappers" for some added texture. The embossed polka dots behind the cupcakes just added to the theme, too. What is the perfect accent to wrap up a box of yummy cupcakes fresh from the bakery? Baker's Twine, of course! My cupcakes were inspired by the Pink Champagne cupcakes at my favorite local shop, Kate's Frosting. (Click their name to read about their yummy creations)lIf you are ever in the San Antonio area, check this place out! SO delicious! Finally, here is the dressed-up inside of the card, complete with birthday wishes:
