Truly Tailored Car Fragrance Holder

Hello and Happy Saturday! As promised on my blog post from Facebook Live Thursday, here is the 4th and final project that I created with the Truly Tailored Bundle. I shared this suite of projects at an event that my friend and upline, Erica was hosting in Fort Worth last weekend before Stampin’ Up! Onstage. I had a lot of fun creating these projects and I hope you like them as well.
I’m always looking for fun gift ideas for guys and this is something I think car fragrance is a very useful and handy treat for just about anyone really. I created this little box/bag using the Yankee Candle Car Jars, which you can find at a lot of different places like Target, Kohls, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cracker Barrel and of course, Yankee Candle stores and online.
To start, I took a piece of True Gentleman Designer Series Paper with the following measurements:
  • Start with a  5-1/4” x 12” piece of DSP
  • On the 5-1/4” side, score the paper at 1" and then at 4-1/4”
  • On the 12” side, score at 5-1/2” and then at 6-1/2”
  • Cut 4 slits as indicated in the photo above, to make the tabs

As indicated in the photo above, you can see where to add some Tear & Tape adhesive to hold the box together. You can refer to the finished photos to see it all put together. You will also need the other items shown above. At the end of this post, I have listed all of the products used for reference. If you need to purchase any of these items, clicking on the supply list will take you directly to my online store. :)
To hold the Car Jar inside the box/bag securely, I punched a small hole through the top and threaded the Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon through the bag and the little opening at the top of the Car Jar packaging. Then I threaded some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine through a button to create a little loop behind the button. (Refer to the photo above to see that little loop.) Then slide the button and twine down the corduroy ribbon and pull the baker’s twine snug, then tie a bow. This is just a little detail that adds some pop but keeps the product safe inside the box.
Any of the prints on the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper would be great for these little holders.  You could always switch up the color of the baker’s twine for some of the other patterns.

As you can see below, I added the sentiment to a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. I stamped the sentiment on the circle in one color and then on again on another sheet of Very Vanilla Cardstock in a different, coordinating color. I then just cut out the “Dapper” from the second stamped image, flagged the ends and popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for another little detail. I added the sentiment layer to the scalloped circle from the same Layering Circles Framelits Dies using dimensionals. Then I wrapped another piece of the corduroy trim around the middle of the box using Tear & Tape, then popped the layered sentiment on the box using dimensionals. For the final touch, I added a little gold star from the Metallic Enamel Shapes embellishments.
I hope you enjoyed this project today! The Car Jar holders would make great gifts for Father’s Day, birthdays and even for craft fairs. Enjoy your day today and pease come back and visit soon!

Have a HAPPY day!
