“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”
December is upon us and Christmas will be here before we know it. Now is a great time to create those holiday cards to ensure they go out in the mail on time. So, grab some festive crafting supplies and join us this week!
For my card, I decided to open up the Alpine Adventure stamp set and coordinating Alpine Sports Framelits Dies from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. It’s a great set not only Christmas cards, but can be used all winter long.
For my color combo, I decided to let the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper serve as my guide. It features the more traditional colors of Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow which I really like with the stamp set.
I really wanted to do something a little different with the layout, so I decided to use the Layering Circles Framelits as the way to showcase the patterned paper and sentiment. I then cut out the little snowshoes out of the Wood Textures Designer Series paper and sponged around the edges with Sahara Sand to give them more shading. I also cut out 2 little snowflakes from the dies in the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper for a tiny little pop of sparkle.
Originally, I had placed a clean Very Vanilla layer behind all of the die cut elements but it just
felt a little too clean. I decided to change the layer to Sahara Sand, stamped the Hardwood background and then sponged some extra ink around the edges. It added the “right amount of rustic” to tie everything together. At least I think it does. Ha!
Card Measurements:
- Cherry Cobbler Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Mossy Meadow Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Sahara Sand Cardstock - 3-3/4” x 5"
Finally, a peek inside the inside of the card, using a 3/4” x 4” strip of DSP along with more of the stamps from the set.
Won’t you join us and share your project this week?
You can link up your project through Friday December 7th, 2018 at Noon PST.

I've been using these papers this week too Anne Marie, but with the Merry Christmas thinlit dies - but I digress! I love the fun layout with your snowshoes and that hardwood background is just perfect - the whole thing reminds me of ski chalets and log cabins, so cosy!
ReplyDeleteThis layout is a really pretty way to show off the papers. I like the warm, rustic feel these patterns and earthy tones give. Just gorgeous, Anne-Marie.

ReplyDeleteAnn Marie...love the snowshoe collage. You are so talented with patterned papers. I just noticed the cute visitor map at the bottom of your post... is this an app?
