Flowering Desert for Team Swaps

Hello and Happy Saturday to you! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Today, I wanted to share the second card I created for my team swaps this month. This card features the new Flowering Desert stamp set and comes together pretty easily. 

I decided that I wanted to use some bright and happy colors for this little scene. Not surprising, I know. Bright colors are my favorite! One thing that I think is really fun about this set is that some of the the images have a bit of a “distressed” look when you stamp them. I think it just adds to the charm of the set. The set is also Photopolymer so it makes it super-easy to get perfect placement because you can see exactly where you are stamping. 

Instead of adding embossing, I decided to randomly stamp a few little “bits” on the Coastal Cabana cardstock layer to add some texture in the background. After I stamped the images, I felt like the card needed a little something more to dress it up. I decided to use the Starburst Punch to add an extra pop of color behind the image and I love how it looks like a little “sun”. I popped up the sentiment banner for some added dimension and finally added a simple bow out of baker’s twine. I felt like it needed an embellishment, but nothing too over-the-top. I really like how it came together and I hope you do as well.

• Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” 
• Coastal Cabana Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4” 
• Melon Mambo Cardstock - 3-1/4” x 4-1/4” 
• Whisper White Cardstock - 3” x 4” 
• Whisper White Cardstock (for banner sentiment) - 1/2” x about 2”, then punch
