Winter Woods for PP425

Hello there and Happy Sunday! This week at The Paper Players, our hostess Claire has a fun theme for us: Snowy Day. It’s also Clean and Simple (CAS) week, so it’s kind of a “double-challenge” week. I live in South Texas, so a snowy day is a pretty rare occurrence for me. However, I was born and raised in Upstate New York, so I am not a stranger to snow. Big hugs to all of those who are dealing with the big winter storm this weekend. We had a cold front move in down here but it is nothing like what you are going through with up north. Hope everyone stays safe and the snow melts quickly.
So, it’s Clean and Simple Week. I’m not going to lie, this is the theme challenge I stress about the most. I love layers, details and embellishments. So, I tend to overthink these challenges. A. LOT. I am happy to say, that (if you count the "snow banks" as 2) I made it to 5 layers this week! This is a new record! LOL! Please do not judge my lack of CAS skills….I’m making progress. That’s what counts. Haha!

I decided to ink up my Winter Woods stamp set for this challenge. I stamped the “woods” in Versamark and then heat embossed the images in white embossing powder for some texture and shine. Is that technically considered another layer? Shhh, I don’t want to know if it is. It looks good, so that’s all that matters, right?
The “snow banks” were created from the coordinating In The Woods Framelits. I popped up the front layer on Stampin Dimensionals. I wasn’t going to admit it, but you can see it in the photos. When it came time for a sentiment, I decided that it HAD to be simple so I went with the Well Written Framelits. This is just a fun card to send to a friend for any occasion…you can add the sentiment to the inside. Or you can just write a little note. It’s all good! I popped in a tiny sparkly heart from the In the Woods Framelits set to tie the colors together. I do love how that little pop of sparkle stands out. I hope you do as well. Bling makes everything better, right?

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players. Whether you are learning to “embrace your inner CAS” or are a clean-and-simple pro, we welcome you to join us. Let’s have some fun! You can share link up project through Noon PST on Friday January 25, 2019. Be sure to stop by and say hello to the Design Team:
