Butterfly Thank You for PP428

Hello there and Happy Sunday stamping friends! This week at The Paper Players the always fabulous Laurie has a fun color combo for us. If there is a color combo that includes Melon Mambo, I’m ALL IN! It’s no secret that it is one of my favorite colors…ok, it’s probably my FAVORITE color. Although Poppy Parade takes a close second. From there, it’’s pretty much any other shade of pink Well, not EVERY shade of pink. I’m looking at YOU Blushing Bride. Haha!
I had to chuckle when I saw these colors! They perfectly represent the colors in my stamping studio. I probably should have taken a few more photos but it’s kind of a mess right now. The walls are Smokey Slate and there are pops of pink everywhere, including a super cozy Melon Mambo armchair. To give you an idea, here is a photo of my chevron accent rug, fabulously adorned by my sassy little kitty, Sophie Beatrice. She doesn’t look like she commands attention, does she? You have no idea what a handful this one is!
Y’all, I have to tell you that the Well Said Bundle in the Stampin Up!® Occasions Catalog is such a “must have” set. The combination of stamps and Framelits are perfect for so many occasions. I grab this bundle often, because it is SO functional. Out of all of the bundles in the Occasions Catalog, this has to be my favorite, hands down.

Since the sentiment was going to be the focal point of the card, I added lots of layers and a little extra texture to make it pop. I accented the card with a little butterflies using the Butterfly Duet Punch. This punch is out of stock right now but will be back soon to order, don’t worry. I stamped the butterflies first in Vellum and then in the Melon Mambo Brights DSP. Adding that little pop of vellum gives them added dimension on their delicate little wings. So pretty! From there I added some pearls, Glitter Enamel Dots and Silver Thread to dress it up a bit. I’ve listed all of the card “ingredients" at the end of this post.

Card Measurements:

  • Melon Mambo Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Basic Gray Cardstock - 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Smokey Slate Cardstock - 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Melon Mambo 6"x6” DSP - 1” x 5” (after punched with Banner Triple Punch)

  • Finally, here is a photo of the inside of the card. Just a little pop of DSP along with a sweet sentiment. Those little butterflies are part of the Well Written Framelits set. I added some of the Mulitipurpose Adhesive Sheets behind them before I ran them through the Big Shot to make it easy to adhere them.
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share a project using Laurie’s color challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday February 15th, 2019.
