Sweetest Thing for PP430

Happy Sunday stamping friends! This week at The Paper Players my sweet friend Ann has a fabulous sketch challenge for us. My layer-loving heart skipped a beat when I saw this one. I hope you will join us and play along. We can’t wait to see how you interpret the sketch.
For my card, I was super-excited to use the Sweetest Thing Bundle. As soon as I saw this suite of products in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog I knew it would be a favorite. It is bright, cheery and fun.

The colors in this suite are some of my favorites. Pretty much anything in the “brights” color family makes me happy. I let the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper guide my color choices on this card and focused on Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch and Melon Mambo as my focal colors. I added some additional texture to the Pineapple Punch layer using the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the “debossed” side of the cardstock to ensure there wasn’t too much bulk for the rest of the layers.

One of the many things I love about this product suite is that the Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies perfectly cut out some of the images in the How Sweet It Is DSP, making it so simple to create finished focal images in a snap. Hooray for cardmaking made easy!
The ribbon in this suite is one of my favorites. It is Coastal Cabana on one side and Granny Apple Green on the other. So pretty! However, due to it’s popularity, this ribbon is currently on backorder (here in the US) until mid-March.

It might be a little tough to see in the photos but I added a little pop of sparkle using the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to a few pieces of the candy. It just added a little extra detail. I also popped on a few Glitter Enamel Dots for a finishing touch.

Card Measurements:

  • Coastal Cabana Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Pineapple Punch Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Striped How Sweet It Is DSP - 2” x 4-3/4”
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock - 2-1/8” x 4-7/8”
  • Polka Dot How Sweet It Is DSP - 1-3/4” x 4-1/4”
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock - 1-7/8” x 4-3/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (for sentiment) - 1-1/2” x 3-7/8”

Finally, here is a look at the inside of the card. I dressed it up with a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Whisper White Cardstock, a piece of DSP the measures 1” x 5-1/4” and some stamped images. I also brought the Wink of Stella inside the card to dress up that little candy accent. Because you can never have TOO much sparkle!

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share a project using Ann’s Sketch Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday March 1st, 2019.
