Hello and Happy Thursday to you! Today I am sharing a card I created for the Sweet Stampede March Blog Hop. The Sweet Stampede is an awesome team of stampers led by my sweet friend and fabulous upline Erica Cerwin. This is our team’s monthly Blog Hop and this month we are sharing projects with a Spring and/or Easter Theme. Be sure to hop along to see what everyone has created.
I decided to pair up the Butterfly Gala stamp set with the color palette in the All My Love Designer Series Paper. It’s probably no surprise that this paper is one of my favorites in the Stampin’ Up® Occasions Catalog. Pink is my absolute FAVORITE!
The Butterfly Gala stamp set is such a fun set! There are lots of different patterned butterflies and I just love how the sentiments use a mix of two different fonts. This set also has a coordinating punch which perfectly cuts out those little butterflies, too. The punch has been incredible popular and is currently backordered. Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait too long! It will be available again on April 1st.
Here is a close up go the punched butterfly. I punched 2 additional butterflies out of Vellum Cardstock to add behind the stamped image for a lot of extra texture and dimension. I also brushed the vellum with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, because everything is better with a pop of sparkle.
I did add a little bit of texture to the background using the Petal Burst Embossing Folder, too. It pairs well with the design in the DSP.
- Lovely Lipstick Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Crumb Cake Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Flirty Flamingo Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5 1/8”
- Lovely Lipstick Cardstock - 3-1/2” x 4-3/4”
- All My Love Designer Series Paper - 3-3/8” x 4-5/8”
Finally, a little peek inside the card. It’s always fun to keep that party going from the front of the card and dress things up a little bit. I simply added a strip of the DSP and a couple of little butterflies . There is still plenty of room to write a handwritten note to the recipient.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Be sure to hop along to check out all of the beautiful creative inspiration for the Spring season. Next up you will be heading to visit my dear friend Alessandra Loiacono’s blog. She has an adorable project to share with you! I know it because I’ve seen it in-person. *wink, wink* Check it out!
