So, this was my take on the challenge. What do you think?
Today’s Colors:
Because the sentiment and the chairs were really the focal points of the card, I decided on a simple beach background using cardstock and embossing folders for texture. I used the new High Seas 3D Embossing Folder on the Balmy Blue cardstock which added some subtle waves. Then I took two pieces of Club Cake Cardstock (measurements below) and embossed them with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I tore the tops of the cardstock pieces, then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink for a “sandy” look. I also spritzed a little crumb cake ink on the cardstock using an Aqua Painter, although in retrospect, I wish I added a wee bit more.
The sentiment is heat embossed using the new Shimmer White Embossing Powder from Stampin’ Up!® The pop of sparkle in the embossing really adds so much detail to the big, bold sentiment. I added a little strip of Blueberry Bushel Foil Paper under the sentiment banner for some added shine, as well. Then, I popped on a little silver button (retired) with some frayed Linen Trim detail. I wasn’t sure if I liked it at first but it grew on me, so I left it. Haha!
Card Measurements:
- Blueberry Bushel Cardstock - 4-1/4” x 11” , scored at 5-1/2”
- Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Balmy Blue Cardstock (embossed with High Seas Embossing Folder) -3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
- Crumb Cake Cardstock (embossed with Subtle Embossing Folder) - 2-1/4” x 3-7/8” and 1-1/4” x 3-7/8”
- Blueberry Bushel Cardstock (for sentiment, punched with Banner Triple Punch) - 1” x 3-3/4”
- Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Noble Peacock Foil Sheets (in Blueberry Bushel) - 1/4” x 3-3/4”
- Lovely Lipstick Cardstock - scraps to die-cut chairs
Here is a look inside the card where I added a simple sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink.
