Vibrant Vases for PP448

Hello and Happy Sunday! It’s time for another weekly challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, Joanne has a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Theme Challenge for us. I always enjoy these challenges, because there are so many options to choose from for creative inspiration.
For my card, I decided to go with the middle row across: Punched Shape - Yellow - Pearls to get my project started. When everything was finished, I realized that my card also checked off every box on the board except  Birthday and Wood. So close!

 Today’s Colors:

I’m currently loving the new Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper and have been using it a lot. The color combo in this paper is so pretty and it instantly came to mind for the “yellow” portion of the challenge. I even used Crushed Curry ink (gasp!) which, if you have followed me for some time, you might know is not my favorite color.

I paired up the DSP with the Vibrant Vases stamp set and coordinating punch for a monochromatic card that all came together pretty quickly. Originally, I made the card with Whisper White Cardstock and decided I liked it better using Very Vanilla with this color combo.

Card Measurements:

  • So Saffron Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP - 3-3/4” x 5”
  • Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP - 7/8” x 3-3/4”
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (for sentiment) - 3/4” x 2”
  • Scraps of Very Vanilla and So Saffron Cardstock for Vase Punch and die cut circle
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP (inside card)  - 1” x 4”

I added a couple of tiny details to finish everything off, including some Wink of Stella accents on the vase, a Linen Thread Bow and of course, some pretty pearls. Using a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend marker, I added a tiny bit of shading under the vase, so it didn’t look like it was floating in air. I just realized I forgot to add that in the product listing below. oops!

I also used some of the new Seaside Spray 1/2” Scalloped Trim to add a little pop of texture to the sentiment. The back of the ribbon is a solid Crumb Cake color, so I just cut the piece of ribbon in half and adhered it to the back of the sentiment for an added detail. It’s just another fun way to use that ribbon with a little more versatility!
Finally, here a look inside the card where I also added a little pop of the ribbon trim behind the DSP.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share a project using this fun Tic-Tac-Toe board for inspiration. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday July 5th, 2019.

  2. Your card is a triumph in yellow Anne Marie - I think the yellow combo is great for taking the mustard out of Crushed Curry! Such a pretty way to highlight your vase of flowers and I love the little diecut sentiment border and touches of sparkle too.
