Hello and Happy Sunday to you!
It’s time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!
This week, LeAnne is our hostess for our Clean-and-Simple Challenge, with a fun twist.
Usually Clean-and-Simple week is a challenge in itself for me but as soon as I saw this one, I immediately knew what I wanted to do. I pulled out the Merry Christmas to All stamp set and coordinating Merry Christmas dies and got to work. I love these dies so much! Big, bold sentiments in a fun font? Yes, please! This week, LeAnne is our hostess for our Clean-and-Simple Challenge, with a fun twist.
The Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper has a wonderful mix of patterns and has a very traditional Christmas color combo. To make that “Merry” sentiment really stand out, I used Real Red Glimmer Paper to make it the star of the show. Everything is better with a little sparkle, right?
Color Combo:
Since it is Clean-and-Simple week, I didn’t want to over-do the embellishments. I used the little leaf and berries dies from the Cup of Cheer Dies to add a little holly berry accent. I used Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the leaves to dress them up a bit and popped on the glittery red berries to the leaves using Mini Glue Dots. I also added a couple of simple pearl accents in the top corner of the card, just to balance everything out.
- Real Red Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Garden Green Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Very Vanilla Cardstock - 3-3/4” x 5”
- Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper - 3-3/4” x approximately 3-1/4”, cut at an angle
- Garden Green Cardstock - approximately 1” x 4-1/4”, then use scallop trim from Stitched Be Mine dies on one side, layer on card at an angle and trim off ends
- Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Real Red Glimmer Paper (inside card) - 4” x 1/2”
Finally, here is a quick peek inside the card. A bold sentiment on the front needs a bold sentiment inside, right? I just love this coordinating sentiment in the Merry Christmas to All stamp set. I stamped it in Garden Green and added a simple 1/2” strip of Red Glimmer paper for a little extra sparkly detail.
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project with our ”Clean-and-Simple Theme Challenge". We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday October 25th, 2019.
