I was super-excited to ink up the new Whale Done stamp set for this hop! So excited, in fact, that I made a bunch of these cards for a card swap, too. The Whale Done stamp set has a coordinating Whale Builder Punch, which works with the stamp set, or you can build your own whale from different colors of cardstock. This suite also includes the gorgeous Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, the Whale of a Time Sequins and the Seabed 3D Embossing folder. This embossing folder is gorgeous and adds so much texture and detail to a card. I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for this card below along with a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
This stamp set makes it easy to create little underwater scenes and all of the coordinating products just work together beautifully. I wanted to add some ribbon to my card, because I feel like a card just isn’t complete without it. A bow just seemed TOO big and distracting, so I decided to just add a tiny piece of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon behind the sentiment. I liked the little pop of shimmery detail it added, without being overwhelming. Let’s talk about how fun those sequins are, shall we? Especially that little iridescent seashell. Too cute, right?!
Card Measurements and Details:
- Pretty Peacock Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Granny Apple Green Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Just Jade Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Seabed 3D Embossing Folder
- Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper - 1-1/2” x 5-1/8”
- Whisper White Cardstock - die cut a 3” stitched circle (the largest circle) from Stitched Shapes Dies, stamp seagrass (Granny Apple Green ink), fish (Calypso Coral ink) and bubbles (Balmy Blue ink)
- Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp whale in Pretty Peacock ink, punch out using Whale Builder Punch and accent with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
- Whisper white Cardstock - die cut a 1-7/8” label from the Hippo and Friends Dies, stamp sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink
- Add a piece of Pretty Peacock/Old Olive reversible ribbon behind sentiment
- Add Whale of a Time Sequins to card front using liquid glue
- Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp a little ocean scene at the bottom of the cardstock
We all hope that you find lots of ideas and inspiration for your creativity!
