So Much Happy for PP505

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, LeAnne is hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
I’ve said it before, but Sketch Challenges are my FAVORITE! I love how one basic layout can provide so many opportunities for creative inspiration. I originally started out making a fall card for this sketch and then decided to go in a completely different direction. I always need birthday cards on hand to mail out, so I decided to make a few of these to have ready to mail.

Color Combo:
The So Much Happy stamp set and coordinating Happy Dies have quickly become a favorite! It’s such a fun set for birthdays, graduations or just to tell someone that they are awesome. The balloons and the extra detailed pieces have a lot of fun possibilities, too. I know this is a set that is going to get a lot of use!
The angled elements in LeAnne’s sketch are a really fun detail to the layout, don’t you think? They really add a lot of interest to the card. For this card, it was a fun way to add some different patterns from the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper and I loved the open space to showcase the little balloon bouquet. So fun!

Of course, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the balloons along with some rhinestones the card front. I know, not everything needs sparkle…but if you have it, use it! :)
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Night of Navy Card Base - 4 1/4” x 11, scored at 5 1/2”
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock  - 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Purple Posy Cardstock - 3 7/8” x 5 1/4”, embossed using Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper - 2 pieces cut at an angle to layer over the Purple Posy Cardstock
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp “Happy” in Night of Navy ink and “to celebrate you” in Coastal Cabana ink, then die cut using the 2 3/4” oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp three balloons in Coastal Cabana ink, then die cut balloons and three “strings” from the Happy Dies
  • Playing with Patterns Ribbon Pack and Rhinestones
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 3/4” x 5 1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5 1/4"
Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a little strip of the DSP along with a coordinating sentiment.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Sketch Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday August 28th, 2020
