Gather Together Thanksgiving for PP515

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Laurie is hosting our Theme Challenge.
Well, it’s officially November. Can you believe it? The weather here in South Texas has finally cooled off a bit, so it finally feels a bit more like Fall.  In just a few short weeks, it will be time for Thanksgiving here in the United States. This challenge was perfect to get some cards made to send out to family and friends for the occasion.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.

Color Combo:
For my card, I decided to pair up two stamp sets. I used a trio of pumpkins from the Gather Together stamp set along with the sentiment from the Banner Year stamp set. Of course, I HAD to use my favorite Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper because it’s so perfect for so many different occasions. I really like how the pumpkins stood out against this Pretty Peacock plaid.

I also added some extra texture to the background using one of the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders and sponged a little ink around the edges to add some shading. I heat embossed the sentiment and added it below the trio of pumpkins to ground them so they weren’t just floating on the die cut label. There is also some Wink of Stella on the pumpkins because everything is better with a little sparkle, right?
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Pretty Peacock Card Base: 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”
  • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock: 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”, emboss using Woven in Texture Embossing Folder, sponge edges with Crumb Cake ink
  • Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper: 2 1/4” x 5 1/8"
  • Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen Ribbon: cut down the middle and attach to either side of the Plaid Tidings DSP layer for textured scallop trim
  • Whisper White Cardstock: die cut one 3 3/4" label from Stitched Nested Labels Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock: scrap to stamp three pumpkins in Blackberry Bliss ink, color with Stampin’ Blends Markers, accent with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: 3” x 1/2”, heat emboss sentiment in white, then punch either end with Banners Pick a Punch
  • Linen Thread and Holiday Rhinestones
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper (inside card)
Finally, here is a peek inside the card. I added a little pop of the plaid DSP and another pumpkin to keep the party going from the front of the card. I opted not to add a sentiment to leave some space for a handwritten note.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Theme Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday November 6th, 2020
