Sweet Ice Cream Birthday for PP538

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the always lovely Claire is hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Sketch challenge are my FAVORITE! As soon as I saw this sketch, I was drawn to use the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and coordinating Ice Cream Builder Punch for a fun birthday card. What better way to celebrate a birthday than with a triple scoop of delicious ice cream, right? Yum!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
I just love this color combo! The Old Olive reminds me of pistachio ice cream and I just love how the Bermuda Bay really pops against the green. I added in some sheer Pool Party ribbon behind the cone for some added texture and shimmer. Of course, rhinestone “sprinkles” are always the perfect finishing touch.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? If I had to pick, I would have a hard time choosing between (dairy-free) Butter Pecan and Mint Chocolate Chip. Yum!!!
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Old Olive Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Bermuda Bay Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Ice Cream Shop Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Bermuda Bay Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 1-1/2”, embossed with Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Basic White Cardstock: die cut a 2-3/8” x 4-1/4” label from Stitched Nested Labels Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2” x 1/2”, punch a banner on either end with the Tailored Tag Punch and stamp sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp ice cream scoops and cone as follows - two scoops in Pool Party ink with sprinkles in Bermuda Bay ink, one scoop in Soft Sea Foam ink and sprinkles in Old Olive ink, one cone in Cinnamon Cider ink stamped-off once and waffle detail in Cinnamon Cider ink. Punch out using the Ice Cream Builder Punch.
  • Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and Rhinestones
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink
  • Ice Cream Shop Designer Series Paper (inside card): 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Finally a peek inside the card! I added ia simple strip of the DSP along with the big, bold birthday sentiment. I always need more birthday cards in my “stash” and this one is done and ready to pop in the mail. Super cute, right?

  3. You have selected my favorite food group Anne Marie! Not even joking...hubby and I eat ice-cream at least 6 days a week, it's really a problem. Now as for the card and color...JUST WOW! I was not remotely interested in this stamp set until I saw your card. You do that a lot! LOL Well done!
