Hello stamping friends! Today, I am SO excited to share my projects with you for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are an awesome group of stampers from all over the world who come together on the second Wednesday of every month to share some creative inspiration and smiles from around the globe. You will definitely want to visit everyone to see all of the amazing projects. We hope you enjoy hopping along with us this month!
If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, I’m Anne Marie Hile from San Antonio, TX and I’m SO happy you stopped by today. Welcome!
Our theme for the month is “Changing Seasons”. I live in South Texas and it’s really HOT here! My inspiration for this theme brings me back to my New York roots. I have always enjoyed the fall season when the leaves change to so many gorgeous, rich colors. Growing up, I remember driving through the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York to take in the beautiful fall foliage. Nature really does provide us with so much beauty, doesn’t it? Here in Texas, we don’t really have a “fall” as it is still pushing the triple digits on the thermometer every day. However, it IS September, so I’m channeling those fabulous fall vibes while enjoying my warm pumpkin spice latte...in the cool air conditioning.
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
I decided to ink up the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set and coordinating Intricate Leaves Dies for my card. I just love all of the detail in this stamp die set and couldn’t wait to ink it up for the first time. I created a cluster of fall foliage using some of my favorite fall colors and popped in a little bit of brushed copper foil for some added shine. It’s a little tough to see in the photos, but I also added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to a few of the smaller die cut leaves for some additional detail. These stamps and dies are already a favorite for this season, so I’m sure I’ll be using them frequently!
Color Combo:
Card Measurements and Details:
- Cajun Craze Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2” and folded in half
- Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
- Very Vanilla Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, stamp the background images from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set in Crumb Cake ink, then emboss using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
- Sponge the edges around the embossed Very Vanilla Cardstock layer using Crumb Cake ink and add some Wink of Stella “splatters” to the background
- Very Vanilla Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 3/4”, stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink and banner punch on either end. Add to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp and die-cut leaf images using Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Brushed Metallic Cardstock (copper) and branches from Early Espresso
- I sponged some Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the leaves/flowers and also sponged some ink over the Linen Thread pieces to add additional shading
- Champagne Rhinestones
- Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp distressed background using Crumb Cake ink and add extra die cut leaves
- Crumb Cake Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 3/4”, emboss using the Tasteful Textile 3d Embossing Folder and sponge Crumb Cake ink around the edges
Finally, a peek inside the card. I used another scrap of Crumb Cake Cardstock and some leftover die cut leaves to create an area to write a handwritten note to a send to a friend or loved one. This card really got me in the mood for the fall season. Where are you here visiting from? What season are you celebrating where you are? Leave a comment below to say hello and let me know.
