Frightfully Cute for PP557

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, LeAnne is hosting a fun Theme Challenge.
I just love this “By the Numbers” theme! I had fun looking through my supplies to see what inspired me…and to see how I could incorporate numbers on my card. Right now, I’m so ready for the fall season and everything that goes along with it. So, I decided to make a Halloween card using the Frightfully Cute stamp set and coordinating Frightful Tags Dies. My numbers are from the Playful Alphabet Dies

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
The Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites right now! Not only are the patterns perfect for Halloween cards, some of them coordinate with the Halloween Punch. That little ghost with the treat bag just makes me smile, especially with his little rosy cheeks. SO cute! I love that all of the detail is already the paper, I just punched him out and popped him on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Easy, peasy!

I added pops of Black Glitter Paper for a some glitz and glam. Personally, I like glittery paper spiderwebs much better than the real kind. Eek! I decided not to add a sentiment on the front of the card, because I felt the numbers served the purpose. The only stamping on this card is on the inside. I had a lot of fun with this challenge and I hope you will play along and share your project, too.
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Pumpkin Pie Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2"
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Highland Heather Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss using the polka dot folder from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folders
  • Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper: 2" x 5-1/8”
  • Black Glitter Paper: 1/2” x 5-1/4” strip, die cut using the scalloped border from the Penned Flowers Dies
  • Black Glitter Paper: scrap to die cut the spider web from the Frightful Tags Dies
  • Highland Heather Cardstock: scrap to die cut the numbers from the Playful Alphabet Dies
  • Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper: punch out the ghost from the coordinating pattern
  • Star Sequins and gingham ribbon
  • Basic White cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment and spider in Momento ink
  • Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper (inside card): 4” x 1” and punch the pumpkin out of the coordinating pattern
Finally, a peek inside the card! I added a little strip of DSP, punched out a cute pumpkin from the DSP and stamped a fun sentiment from the Frightfully Cute stamp set. I also stamped a little spider to go along with the web on the front of the card. A cute card all ready to send out for Halloween!
