Sparkle of the Season for PP562

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am super-excited to be your host with a fun Color Challenge.
When I selected these colors, I thought it would be fun to leave the 4th color choice open to see what color combos it inspired for the challenge. Pumpkin Pie is a color I tend to shy away from because it’s almost TOO orange sometimes but I just love it paired with the softer Pale Papaya. Once I decided on the stamp set I was going to use for the card, I selected Soft Succulent as my 4th color.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
I decided to use the Sparkle of the Season stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Swirls Dies for my card. I love this set because it covers many occasions from fall to Halloween to Christmas. It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in Texas, so a wreath to celebrate the season felt appropriate as I have been putting up seasonal decor this past week.

The Cork Specialty Paper is currently one of my favorites! It adds gorgeous texture and is very lightweight so it doesn’t add bulk. This is one of the papers that you have to see “in person” to truly see how beautiful it is. I felt like it really went with the cozy fall theme of my card. I also added some texture to the Very Vanilla Cardstock layer behind the wreath. But it still felt like it needed something.

I decided to add a few “speckled dots” to the background in Early Espresso. I squished my ink pad to get some ink on the lid, then picked up some of the ink on my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. Then I tapped the brush against my finger to get those light ink “splatters” on the cardstock. It also added some sparkly detail that is tough to see in the photos. Just make sure to protect your work surface with scrap paper, because it can get a little messy once you start tap-tap-tapping.
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Pumpkin Pie Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2"
  • Early Espresso Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Pale Papaya In Color Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Cork Specialty Paper: 2” x 4-1/2”
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock: 3” x 3-3/4”, embossed with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, then add some “speckled dots” using Early Espresso ink and Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
  • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock: 1-1/4” x 1/2”, stamp sentiment in Early Espresso ink
  • Early Espresso, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock: scraps to die cut wreath, leaves (3 sets in two colors) and pumpkins (layer two on front of card and one for inside)
  • Linen Thread and Champagne Rhinestones
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp branch image in Soft Succulent ink
  • Pale Papaya In Color Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 7/8”
  • Early Espresso Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 1/4”
Finally, a peek inside the card! I added a leftover strip of DSP from the front of the card along with a little Early Espresso Cardstock to represent all of the colors. I had a leftover pumpkin which ended up being a perfect little accent along with a stamped branch. I left the sentiment blank for a handwritten note.
