Pierced Blooms for PP573

Happy Sunday, friends! Happy New Year!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am super-excited to be hosting our Color Challenge
If you have ever visited me before, you might know that I LOVE bright and cheery colors. In the middle of January when the weather is so cold (and snowy for many), a happy color combo can be really fun to get the creative mojo working. I hope you will join us and play along this week. We’d love to see what you create with the challenge colors!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
When I sat down to create my card, I knew I wanted to use the sentiment from the new Artfully Layered stamp set. I just love the mix of fonts in the sentiments in this set and know I’ll be using them a lot. I had originally planned to use the leaves in this stamp set as my focal images but as I pulled the cardstock colors out ALL I could think about was a bright and cheery floral bouquet. My “go-to” for fun flowers are the Pierced Blooms Dies. This set has such a great assortment of flowers in different shapes and sizes and I especially like the pierced detail, which really makes the images stand out even more.

For my neutral color, I stuck with good ol’ Basic White. Pretty adventurous, huh? Haha! I just really liked how the flowers popped on the clean background. I added some texture to the background with the new Hive 3D Embossing Folder and added the sentiment on a Stitched Rectangle Die. I brushed some Wink of Stella on the centers of the larger flowers for added sparkle and popped on some rhinestones as a finishing touch. I really like how this card came together and I hope you do too. :)
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Calypso Coral Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2"
  • Just Jade Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-3/4” x 4-1/4”, die cut a stitched rectangle and stamp the sentiment in Just Jade ink
  • Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya and Just Jade Cardstock: scraps to die cut assorted flowers, centers of flowers and leaves from the Pierced Blooms Dies.
  • Accent the centers of the larger flowers using Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp the sentiment in Just Jade ink and the accent images in Pale Papaya ink
Finally, here is look inside the card. I simply stamped a birthday sentiment from the Artfully layered stamp set along with two little accent images. I am always in need of birthday cards, so that’s what I went with but this card would work for many different occasions.
