Wonderful World for PP603

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the always lovely Jaydee is our host for a fabulous Theme Challenge.
This week, it’s ALL about birthdays! These are there cards I send out the most, so any opportunity to create a few more to have on hand is always a good idea. I hope you will join us and share your creativity for the challenge, too!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
To create my card, I was inspired to use the Wonderful World stamp set and coordinating Wonderful World Designer Series Paper. These two items can be only earned together for FREE with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration, which is going on right now through 8/31/22 (or while supplies last). This bundle features beautiful floral images of flowers from around the world, including an iris, a rose and a cornflower.
I went with the cornflower as my focal image for this card! I used the colors of the flowers in the DSP as my guide to shading the flower. However, when I looked up a cornflower, I noticed that most of the flowers had more of a purple center. So, if my shading is off…blame the DSP! Haha!

To ink up the image, I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color all of the different parts of the flowers. Event though I used Starry Sky Cardstock for my card base, I actually used the Orchid Oasis marker to color the flowers. It just looked a little bit better to me to use the lighter color on the stamped image. The centers are So Saffron and the stems are Pear Pizzazz. I also added a little Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the center of the flowers for a pop of sparkle. Since this stamp set does not have any sentiments, I decided to use the Pansy Patch stamp set (one of my favorites) for the birthday greetings on the card.

  • Starry Sky Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”

  6. Gorgeous card, Anne Marie! Love all the layers and you picked a lovely pattern to accent your cornflowers. One thing I like about stamping is that I can make flowers and animals and everything else ANY color I want, and no one can tell me it's wrong ;)
