Cottage Wreaths for PP610

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Jaydee is hosting our Sketch Challenge.
If you have visited me before, you probably know Sketch Challenges are my FAVORITE! They are just a great way to jump start your creativity. I love looking at the card layout then going through my stamps to see what jumps out at me. So many possibilities! Jaydee’s sketch this week is a fabulous one for sure. I know I will be using it again and again!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
For my card, I decided to use the (new to me) Cottage Wreath Bundle. The Country Wreath Dies have lots of fun little details to create festive wreaths for all seasons along with the coordinating Cottage Wreath stamp set. I didn’t actually use the stamp set on this card, although I had intended to initially. As I was building the wreath, I found that the dies alone got the job done. I needed a little bit of a larger sentiment for this layout and decided on the Go-To Greetings stamp set. This is just a great basic sentiment sent with those most-used greetings in three different fonts. I reach for this set a lot!

The color combo came about from a piece of home decor I saw on Pinterest, so i decided to create a little “hanging” wreath. I have been playing a LOT with traditional fall colors lately and wanted to create this card with more of a softer "farmhouse chic” vibe. I looked through the colors in the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and loved the softness of So Saffron. I always love yellow and gray together, so added Gray Granite to the mix. Then I popped in some greens (Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam), Soft Suede for accents and a metallic gold bow for a fancy finishing touch.
If you’d like to watch a video showing how to put this card together, I shared it on my Facebook Live today. You can catch the replay over on my YouTube channel HERE. Please be sure to subscribe while you are there! :)

  6. Such a sweet card, Anne Marie, I liked hearing how you came to your color combination. I find myself using variations of yellow and green together a lot, probably because green & gold are my college colors :) So Saffron is a lovely alternative to the rusts and reds of fall!
