Joyful Flurry for PP617

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, sweet Jaydee is hosting our Color Challenge.
I was so excited to see this color combo! I very rarely gravitate toward blues when I create for some reason. I decided on Tahitian Tide for this card because I just love how bright and cheery of a color it is. As soon as I got all of my cardstock laid out, the stamp set pretty much picked itself! I sure hope you will get crafty and join us over at The Paper Players and share what you make with this color combo!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
For my card, I used the Joyful Flurry stamp set and coordinating Festive Flurry Dies from the Stampin’ Up!® July - December Mini Catalog. I told myself I wasn’t going to get this bundle initially (because my wish list was long enough, haha!) but I couldn’t resist. I finally broke down and ordered it recently and I’m sure happy that I did. There is something about snowflakes, I tell ya! I just love all of the delicate details in this set and if you have visited me before, you know I’m a push-over for a gorgeous mix of fonts on sentiments.

I used a little pop of the polka dot pattern from Tea Boutique DSP because it reminded me of falling snow. Sometimes a little pop of a pattern is just enough. I also embossed the background for added texture. The snowflakes and sentiment are heat embossed in silver and look so much more fancy in real life. The photos just don’t capture that shine. I really like how this card came together with these colors and I hope you do too!
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Tahitian Tide Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Wintry (snowflakes) 3D Embossing Folder
  • Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper: 1” x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: Scraps for stamping/embossing snowflakes in silver
  • Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper: scrap to die cut snowflakes
  • Basic Black Cardstock: scrap to stamp/heat emboss/die-cut sentiment
  • Tahitian Tide Metallic Woven Ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels (colored with Dark Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends_
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp snowflakes in Tahitian Tide ink
  • Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper: 1/4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: scrap to stamp/heat emboss/die-cut sentiment
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! A added a little strip of DSP, some stamped snowflakes and a coordinating sentiment on the larger die-cut label from the Festive Flurry Dies. The label might be a bit large, in retrospect…I think the sentiment would also look nice just stamped in black ink. :)
