Seaside Bay for PP624

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the lovely Jaydee is hosting our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.
For a fun twist, there is a a “Happy Bird Day” theme and we are to feature birds on our projects. It’s always fun combing through my craft supplies to figure out what I want to play with. It’s such a great way to inspire some crafty mojo!  I sure hope you will get crafty and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create with this CAS Theme Challenge!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
As I was perusing my stamp stash, I came across the new Seaside Bay Bundle from the January-April Mini Catalog that I hadn’t inked up yet. I’m not exactly sure what kind of bird this little one is (a Kiwi maybe?) but she sure is cute!

So, I decided to create a simple beach scene for my card. The By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper in this suite of products is soooo pretty and really made it easy to assemble my little scene. I just love the watercolored background with the soft colors, don’t you? I added a little sandy beach and some grassy accents by using the dies. The best part? The little bird was die-cut from the DSP, so no additional coloring was needed. Boom! The only stamping on the front of the card is the sentiment, talk about easy peasy. I popped on a trio of Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls for the finishing touch and I just love the iridescent sheen they add.
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Night of Navy Card Base: 4-1/4”  x 11", scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”, embossed with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3-1/4” x 1/2”, die-cut with sandy border from Seaside Bay dies, adhere to the bottom of the piece of DSP
  • By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper: 3-1/4” x 4-1/2”, die cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Mint Macaron Cardstock: scraps to die cut grassy images from Seaside Bay Dies
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: scrap to die cut an additional thin sandy border to layer over the first, as shown
  • By the Bay Designer Series Paper: die-cut bird from DSP with Seaside Bay Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: 1-7/8” x 5/8”, stamp sentiment in Night of Navy ink
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I stamped a little sand on the bottom of the layer in Crumb Cake ink and added two little baby birds stamped in Night of Navy. So they would resemble their mom on the front of the card, I added some additional color with Mint Macaron and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. There’s plenty of room to add a hand-penned thank you note!

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple “Happy Bird Day" ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 27th, 2023

  3. I think your little bird is a sandpiper...but I am woefully ignorant of shore birds, for "shore"! All I know is that it's beachy and I love it!
