Playing in the Rain for PP627

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the lovely Ann is hosting our Color Challenge.
Ann knocked it out of the park with the colors his week! I just love those soft pastels with that little pop of Crumb Cake. So pretty, right? I sure hope you will get crafty and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create with this fun Theme Challenge!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Sometimes when you see a color combo, a stamp set instantly comes to mind and that’s what happened here. I immediately thought of the adorable little bunny in the Playing in the Rain Bundle from the January - April Mini Catalog. Yellow raincoat, pink umbrella…boom. I wanted to create a little scene for her and boy did it take me a while. Haha! I originally was going to have rain coming from the clouds but couldn’t figure out a good place to put the sentiment. Then, I thought, why is she so happy in the rain…I wouldn’t be. Haha! So I added the little sentiment to a sunny circle so this lovely little lady could enjoy the happy day now that it STOPPED raining.

The Country Gingham Designer Series Paper added a playful touch to the background and I added a little pop of it to her bitty bow, too. I also added some Wink of Stella to the puddle and the clouds for an extra pop of sparkle. The pearls were the perfect finishing touch adding a little touch of “fancy” to her outfit. A girl has to accessorize, right?
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Balmy Blue Card Base: 4-1/4”  x 11", scored at 5-1/2”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Country Gingham Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die-cut the second largest rectangle from the Scalloped Contours Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap for stamping the bunny image, umbrella and clouds
  • So Saffron Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Memento ink, then die cut with 1-3/8” circle from Layering Circles Dies
  • Country Gingham Designer series Paper: Scrap to die cut the itty-bitty bow
  • Accent clouds and puddle with Wink of Stella and add Pearl Basic Jewels
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, here is a peek inside the card. I added another adorable bunny with a bow, of course and also popped in the extra die-cut cloud from the front. I left the sentiment off for now because this could be used for a few different occasions, so I’ll stamp it when the time is right to send it out.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday February 17th, 2023
