Best Butterflies for PP631

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the lovely LeAnne is hosting our Color Challenge.
This color combo checks ALL of the boxes for me, bright, cheery and perfect for the spring season. As soon as I saw it, I couldn’t wait to create a fun card. I sure hope you will get crafty and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create with this theme!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Deciding on a stamp set is half the battle when creating but for some reason, I was drawn to use the Best Butterflies stamp set and coordinating Build a Butterfly Dies from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. I just love all of the stitched and cut-out detail on the butterflies and I kept the stitching going throughout with the circle and background layer. That Stitched Greenery Die has really become a favorite because it adds just the right amount of texture and detail to a background. I love it!

I also added a second vellum butterfly layered behind the first to give some extra dimension. I only added the glue on the butterfly body so the wings had a “fluttery” look to them. This card came together pretty quickly, once I could make up my mind on the layout. Sheesh, my indecisiveness really got the best of me on this one. In the end, I love how it came out ad I hope you do as well. :)
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Granny Apple Green Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, score at 5-1/2”
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Flowers & More Host Exclusive Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3” x 4-1/4”, die-cut with Stitched Greenery Die
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock: die-cut largest circle from Stylish Shapes Dies, heat emboss sentiment with Versamark ink and white embossing powder
  • Vellum Cardstock: die-cut (2) butterflies
  • Granny Apple Green, Tahitian Tide and Daffodil Delight Cardstock: scraps to die cut butterflies

  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-/4”, stamp sentiment in Daffodil Delight ink
  • Flowers & More Host Exclusive Designer Series Paper (card interior): 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, a peek inside the card. I cut an extra butterfly that I didn’t end up using on the front, so I didn’t want it to go to waste. I also added a little strip of DSP to bring all of the colors together inside along with the stamped sentiment. This card is ready to pop in the mail this week!

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday March 17th, 2023
