December 2022 - Stamping Sunday Bog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends! Today, I’m super-excited to share the December 2022 Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we share on the second Sunday of every month.

Our theme for the month is “Hostess with the Mostest” where we are each sharing two projects for gift-giving (such as favors, table decor, wine tags, host gifts, etc.) just in time for the holiday season. Welcome, I’m so happy you are here today!
’Tis the season of treat holders! This time of year, I always need little “goodies” whether it’s for friends, neighbors, co-workers…the list goes on and on. I don’t know about you, but I really think presentation is so important when it comes to giving a gift. It’s that extra detail that makes it even more special to open it up.

Today, I am sharing two little treat holders using some of my favorite stamps and dies in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. The Christmas Season and Christmas to Remember stamp sets, along with the Seasonal Labels Dies are just perfect for the holiday season. I find that I reach for them a LOT when making cards and gifts. There is also the coordinating Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper which is available while supplies last. Right now, its still available at an amazing sale price, so grab a few extra packs while you can…I sure did.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my projects below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post
Color Combo:
This is an easy little treat bag to assemble. It can hold anything from candy (I filled this one with Hershey Kisses) to jewelry, small cosmetics, tea bags…and SO much more. This bag is perfect for any occasion and is an awesome way to use up some of that Designer Series Paper hoard collection I know a few of you have in your crafty spaces. Just me? I didn’t think so! ;-)
Measurements and Details:
  • Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper: 5” x 7”
  • Score on short (5”) side at 1” and 4”
  • Score on long (7”) side at 3” and 4”
  • Fold, snip and glue tabs to create gift bag
  • Basic White Cardstock: die-cut the label from Seasonal Labels Dies and then die-cut with Stitched Greenery Die to create patterned background
  • Basic White Cardstock: scraps to stamp / die-cut berries and pine sprig. Stamp & fussy-cut the sentiment label with Paper Snips.
  • Silver Foil Specialty Pack: scrap to die cut leaf image from Seasonal Labels Dies
  • Accent berries with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
  • Use a standard handheld hole punch on the top of the bag to add the ribbon closure
  • Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo Pack & Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels
My second project for the blog hop is small box with a Designer Series Paper wrap. I originally created this box to hold a sweet treat (I think it was something from the Little Debbie line…haha) but learned that it was also great to hold a gift card as well. We give SO many gift cards during the holidays, It’s just fun to wrap them up and make them extra-fancy. There are actually plenty of little gifts that could fit in this box, it’s just a good one to have in your stash when you need it!
Color Combo:
The gift card kind of “leans” inside the box at an angle, which I think is fun because it pops it up a bit when the box is opened. It’s not an “exact fit” but I don’t think it needs to be. You could even tuck in some low-profile chocolates behind the gift card for a surprise treat. A little extra space just means more room for goodies! I also added some extra detail inside the box to "keep the party going" from the detail on the outside.
Gift Card / Treat Box Measurements and Details:
  • Evening Evergreen Cardstock: 5-1/2” x 6"
  • Score on short (5-1/2”) side at 3/4” x 4-3/4”
  • Score on long (6”) side at 3/4”, 2-3/4”, 3-1/2” and 5-1/2”
  • Trim box as shown below, burnish fold lines and fold together adhering small flaps with liquid glue
  • Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper: 3” x 6-3/4”, wrap around box adhering the overlapping flap on the bottom (Note: this is a “belly band” for the box, so wrap it tight enough to stay on the box but easy enough for the recipient to slide it on and off to open the box)
  • Silver Foil Specialty Pack: 3-1/2” x 1/2”, banner punch both ends with Banners Pick A Punch
  • Basic White Cardstock: scraps to stamp and die cut the label, pinecone and leafy accent
  • Accent pinecone with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for added sparkle
  • Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon
  • Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper (box interior): 3-3/4” x 1-3/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock (box interior): 3-3/4” x 1-3/4”, stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink and leaves in Evening Evergreen ink
Here is a peek at both projects together! Fun, festive and pretty easy to create. I whipped up quite a few extra of these to have handy in the coming weeks. You just never know when you might need an extra gift for someone special.

I hope you enjoyed these projects today using the Seasonal Labels Dies, Christmas Season & Seasonal Labels stamp sets! Please continue along on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop to check out more awesome creative gift-giving inspiration for the holiday season and beyond.

Christmas Season for PP564

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the always lovely LeAnne is hosting our Sketch Challenge.
Sketch Challenges are always my favorite! I love looking at the layout and then thinking about what stamp sets I want to use to create my card. Right before I sat down to create my card for this challenge, UPS dropped off an order from Stampin’ Up! Perfect timing, right? New stamping goodies are always wonderful for creative inspiration. As soon as I saw the Christmas Season stamp set and coordinating Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper in my box, the idea for my card was born!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
I really like the three panels on the front of the card and thought they would be great to showcase some of the beautiful Painted Christmas DSP. For whatever reason, the pinecone pattern really stuck out to me. The earthy color combo is so perfect for a holiday card with a rustic feel to it. I also added a little sparkle to the card with a small circle of Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum behind the pinecone and also accented the darker ink on the pinecone with Wink of Stella. The Shimmer Vellum is absolutely beautiful in-person, I’ve been using it a lot lately.

Here’s a funny story. I was so excited that the layout would fit the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from my new Christmas to Remember stamp set perfectly. I wasn’t paying attention to the ink pads in front of me and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink instead of Soft Suede, which was my intention. I didn’t even realize it until I went to photograph my card and thought “That sentiment looks a lot darker than the pinecone”. I think it still works because there is some Early Espresso in the DSP. It’s not that bad…I mean, I could have stamped it in orange. Now THAT would have really stuck out! Haha!
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Soft Suede Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4"
  • Soft Sea Foam Cardstock: 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Soft Succulent Cardstock: 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”, emboss using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder, sponge some Crumb cake ink around the edges
  • Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper: 1-1/2” x 3-1/4”, 3 pieces
  • Soft Suede Cardstock: scrap to die cut a 2” scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies
  • Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum: scrap to die cut a 1-7/8” circle from the Layering Circles Dies
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 4” x 1/2”, stamp sentiment in Early Espresso (or Soft Suede ink) and banner punch the left side using the Tailored Tag Punch
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp the pinecone images using Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks, die cut using the Seasonal Labels Dies and accent with Wink of Stella
  • Linen Thread and Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 5-1/4” x 4", stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink
  • Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper (inside card): 5-1/4” x 3/4”
Finally, a peek inside the card! I simply added a strip of DSP and a coordinating sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set. There you have it, another Christmas card all ready to mail out!
