As soon as I pulled the 3 colors of card stock out of my stash, I was absolutely smitten with this combo. It can work for so many types of cards, but I really wanted to create something fun and cheery this week. One thing I have discovered about moving into the new house and totally recreating my stamp space is that I have a LOT of stuff! A lot of stuff that has never seen the light of day. Time to change that. This fun umbrella die and sentiment set are from My Favorite Things. I dressed up the umbrella with some texture and sparkle...and of course that spot of bling. I can't seem to make a card without it.
The polka-dot background paper is actually pretty cool. It comes plain white with embossed details. You can sponge or spritz any color of ink you would like on it to create a "custom design". Super easy and totally customizable. It's the Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP and is only available with a qualifying order during SU's Sale-A-Bration. Shoot me a message if you would like more details.
Finally, here is a photo of the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment a little crooked originally, so I covered it up with the layered, punched detail. It's still not completely centered but shhh, just tilt your head and pretend it is. I had a crazy kitten on my desk while creating this card and by the time I got to stamping the sentiment I was tired of her shenanigans. She chewed up a punched umbrella handle and tried to eat some Stampin' Dimensionals. She is out of control!
Please join us over at The Paper Players! The challenge closes on Friday, February 13th, 2015 at Noon (PST). I'm actually having foot surgery that day...EEEK!! Stop by and say hello to the Design Team.

Before I sign off, I thought I would share a photo of my co-creator of the card, Miss Sophie. She looks like she is plotting her next move here...gotta love those kittens! Enjoy your day! :)
Uh oh! She sounds about like stamping with a toddler! lol Great card, AM!
ReplyDeleteOh this is so cute, love the colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, AM! Love your bright and cheery take on the colors. The texture and sparkle you added to the umbrella is fabulous! So glad you liked my colors and it looks like Miss Sophie did too! Thanks for making my colors shine, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHa! I loved reading about your kitten co-creator! I have one of those, too! Love that adorable umbrella and cute cloud background. Such a happy get well card!
ReplyDeleteI love your card! Cool umbrella!! Your texture is perfect for this card. I just did my craft room and found lots of stuff to play with as well as a kitty that loves to craft with me. When I reorganized my craft room, I put a little bed for her right next to me on my craft table and, believe it or not, she now leaves me alone to craft and goes to sleep! Problem solved!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun, cheerful card! This would brighten up anyone's day! Very cute, Anne Marie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute cat story! Sounds like fun to have company while stamping. Your card turned out to bright and cheerful, I agree this color combo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove that beautiful umbrella and it looks amazing in those colors. Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteVery cute card Anne Marie!! I like the way your custom polka dot paper turned out!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so cheery! I love all your layers and the bit of bling on your umbrella is perfect! Your sentiment on the inside is cute, and the tilted heart at the bottom puts everything into balance. Your little helper is absolutely beautiful...our little friends can be stinkers at times but they sure are worth it!!
ReplyDeleteAn adorable card, Anne Marie! You made these colors look fabulous together! I love the cloud embossed background.
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie, your friend will cherish this cheery, bright, sparkly card! It has all my favorite things--polka dots, bling, glitter, a button and a bow! I LOVE it! XX
ReplyDeleteOh... miss Sophie is just so regal and gorgeous. Her coloring is fabulous.... mm... I think I came to look at your card but was totally distracted :-) I love the polka dots and how the dots on the clouds echo the background. Fabulous card, my friend

This is such a fun card Anne Marie - guaranteed to brighten a rainy day! Finished so beautifully inside too.
ReplyDeleteHaven't stopped by in a while and so glad I did today! You did a fantastic job with the colors and I love the cheerful umbrella! I can just see you battling the kitty for your crafting supplies!! Hope all goes well with your surgery too!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your creations (...now that they are not totally SU...seriously). All companies have "good stuff" out there. I love that umbrella! Perfect! I went to MFT, but their umbrella is different. Could you, possibly, give me the name and number of that umbrella diecut? I know it's out there "somewhere". (I'll find it!) Thanks!
