Sweet Treats for Third Thursday Blog Hop

Hello there! It’s time for another blog hop with the 3rd Thursdays team. This month, our theme is Sweet Treats. With Valentine’s Day coming up, this theme was very timely. We hope you enjoy the projects we have shared this month.
For my project, I made a little treat holder and coordinating note card. I just love these little Sweet Cups from Stampin’ Up!®. They are sold in a pack of 10 white cups and lids and are just waiting to be decorated for any occasion. Super-easy! I have Vanlentine’s Day on the brain right now, so I inked up the Meant to Be stamp set once again, along with the coordinating Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies. Let’s talk about the All My Love Designer Series Paper, shall we? The patterns are a mix of fun hearts and beautiful florals. So pretty!
I created the treat holder first, then realized that it needed a coordinating card. If you have never used the Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes, you really should. They are a little smaller then your average card but come pre-cut and scored WITH envelopes. Just add paper, stamps and embellishments and you are ready to go. I layered a 3-1/4” x 4-3/4” piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock on the card base. Then took two different patterns of the DSP measuring 3” x 4-1/2”. I used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut the “frame”, then adhered the pieces together. I added some dimensionals to pop that layer up. It’s a little hard to see in the photo but the stitched detail adds some fun texture.
How cute are these Sweet Cups? They perfectly hold 6 of my favorite Lindt Lindor Truffles. These are Peppermint White Chocolate, but any flavor would certainly work. To wrap your paper around the cup, the easiest way is to take a separate cup and cut it apart to make a “template”. Basically, cut along the seam on the back, cut out the bottom and open the cup up. Cut the cup apart? What?! It’s ok. You can do it once and then save it to use over and over again.
Then trace the shape on your DSP with a pencil. Make sure to cut one of the sides, about 1/4” -1/2” longer than the template, so there is a little overlap on the seam. Trace the shape on the BACK of the DSP pattern you would like to use on your project. Using scissors, cut it out and wrap it around the cup for a perfect fit. Using liquid glue is the best adhesive for this, as it allows a little wiggle room to get a perfect fit.
The Layering Circle Framelits fit to dress up the inside of the lid. I used the largest circle and the largest scallop in the set. I can’t get enough of those heart framelits. That little detail along the side of the heart is another shape in the set. I used the Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets (that are FREE with your quality qualifying purchase) from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Then I cut out a Stitched Shape Framelit oval for the sentiment and added a Heart Epoxy Droplet, colored with a Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Marker. I’ll add all of the supplies I used at the end of the post.

Thanks for visiting today! Please make sure to follow the hop to see more ideas for Sweet Treats. We are a still a new blog hop, so it’s pretty short this month. You will be seeing some new names and faces in the coming months. You will be heading over to my amazingly talented friend, Sarah Fleming’s blog next. Have a great day!
