Lovely Lattice for PP429

Hello stamping friends! This week at The Paper Players the always fabulous LeAnne has a Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Theme Challenge for us using a monochromatic color palette. I was initially thinking of going with shades of blue (based on the colors in the challenge badge) but instead opted to pair Grapefruit Grove and Calypso Coral together instead. I was inspired by the color combo from a swap card that my friend Cara made recently.
So, it’s Clean-and-Simple week again and you know how much of a challenge that can be for me. Haha! But look, there are only 3 layers! Or is the sentiment 4? Either way, I’m making progress, right? I decided to create my card around two of the stamp sets that are available in the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Catalog now through March 31st: Lovely Lattice and Part of My Story. The best part about these stamp sets is that you can earn them for FREE with a qualifying order. Everyone loves free stamps!
First, I stamped the Lovely Lattice stamped image in VersaMark ink on Grapefruit Grove cardstock and then heat embossed it using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It really brought out the detail in this gorgeous image and adds a subtle texture to the card. Although the image was beautiful on its own, I decided to color in the flowers using Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends to add some depth. I just love how the flowers pop!

It was tough not to over embellish the background layer. I wanted to add more texture but every embossing folder I tried ended up distracting from the stamped image. But leaving the Calypso Coral cardstock plain, felt kind of boring. So, I decided to use the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. As the name implies, it adds a tiny bit of texture for interest. I reach for this embossing folder a LOT and really think it is a “must have."
The sentiment was added to a little tag from the Stitched Labels Framelits. I just love the tiny stitched and scalloped detail. So pretty! That sentiment just makes my heart happy, too. Who wouldn’t love to receive that card in the mail? Instant day brightener!

The Grapefruit Grove ribbon is also part of a ribbon pack that can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration. It has been so popular that it is currently unavailable until early-March. Send me an email to annemariehile@gmail.com if you’d like me to let you know when it is back in-stock. Finally, I added a few pearls to the center of the flowers, because they just “needed” that tiny detail.

Card Measurements:
  • Grapefruit Grove Cardstock Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Calypso Coral Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Grapefruit Grove Cardstock (stamped image) - 3-1/4” x3-3/4”

Here is a look inside the card. I stamped and colored two floral images. It’s tough to see in the photo but I added a little glitter from the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the centers of the flowers as well. I left it blank for a handwritten note.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share a project using LeAnne’s Clean-and-Simple challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday February 22nd, 2019.

  5. This is really pretty Anne Marie - the monochrome look really suits this stamp. Bravo on your CAS design and I totally agree re the Subtles TIEF - I am not big into embossing, but find myself using this all the time for just that added little 'something'.
