January 2020 - Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for January! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all over the world sharing our love of stamping. We are all part of Kylie Bertucci’s training group where we are having a great time learning and growing our Stampin’ Up!® businesses. If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, welcome! My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in the United States. I’m so glad you stopped by today!

You may be starting here or have arrived from another blog - either way, you can find the link list of all of the participants at the bottom of this post. Happy Hopping!
My card today features a the fun new Honey Bee Bundle from the Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. Aren’t those little bees SO cute? The Honey Bee Stamp Set also has some great sentiments for different occasions, along with those adorable images. The coordinating Detailed Bee Dies not only cut out the stamped images from the set, but also that little honeycomb and tiny hearts. So fun!
Right now, during Sale-A-Bration (1/3/20-3/31/20), you can also earn the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper that coordinates perfectly with this bundle. One side of the paper features back and white patterns and the other side features gold foil patterns. Sale-A-Bration is a such a fun time of the year because you earn FREE products with your qualifying Stampin’ Up!® purchases. You can get more info on that HERE

*You can find measurements for this card and a full supply list below
To add some fun “movement” to the card, I used a “card wobbler" to pop-up the larger bee. It adds some fun dimension without a lot of bulk and the bee really comes to life when you flick his little wing. Love that! I found the wobblers on Amazon and bought a bunch of them a while ago. I think they are the perfect accent for this stamp set, don’t you? Click HERE for the link on Amazon.

I popped-up the die cut beehive on Stampin' Dimensionals and then attached the base of the wobbler slightly behind the beehive so the plastic wouldn’t show on the card front. Hopefully you can see it ok in the photo above.
For the sentiment, I used two different dies from the Stitched Labels Dies. To start, I stamped the “Hello" sentiment in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink on Whisper White Cardstock and then die cut it with the smaller scalloped tag, keeping most of the sentiment toward the left hand side of the die. Then, I die cut a larger scalloped tag in Basic Black Cardstock and did a little trimming. A couple of quick snips and it was good to go! Take a look at the photo above, for reference. I just felt like it fit the smaller tag a little better this way.

I also die cut two the little hearts from the Detailed Bee Dies in Real Red Cardstock. I popped up the larger of the two hearts next to the sentiment and saved the smaller heart to use inside the card.
The little bees were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers and I know this will come as a shock, but I added some Wink of Stella for sparkly detail. Ha! I also brushed on some of that sparkly goodness on the heart and the scalloped border.

Card Measurements:
  • Daffodil Delight Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (emboss all BUT the bottom 1” with the Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder) - 3-3/4” x 5”
  • Sweet as Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper - 3-3/4” x 1-1/4”
  • Basic Black Cardstock (die cut one side with the scalloped edge from the Be Mine Stitched Dies) - 3-3/4” x 1”
  • Scraps of Gold Foil, Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock for stamping and die cutting
  • Whisper White (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, a look at the inside of the card using a sentiment and a few more little bees from the Honey Bee stamp set. Remember that tiny little heart that I saved? I couldn’t let it go to waste, so I popped it inside the card. Of course, I dressed up the bees and the heart with some Wink of Stella. Why not, right?
