Dragonfly Garden for PP523

Happy Sunday stamping friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Ann is hosting our monthly Color Challenge
Coincidentally, these colors are part of the beautiful Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper pack. So, of course, once I got that in my head, I HAD to use it for my card. I also used the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and coordinating Dragonflies Punch (along with a few other punches) to put the card layout together. I really like how it came out and I hope you do, too.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
One of my favorite things about this paper is the dragonfly pattern that coordinates with the punch. It makes it SO easy to get a beautifully shaded focal image in virtually no time. Easy is a good thing, right? I added some Wink of Stella to the dragonfly which adds a lot of extra sparkly detail “in person”.

I also used the brand new Stitched With Whimsy Dies in the background. I have a feeling these are going to be my new favorites! I love, love, LOVE that playful stitched border. It’s a simple detail that really adds so much.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Misty Moonlight Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss using the second largest square from the Stitched With Whimsy Dies
  • Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (dandelion pattern): 2-1/4” x 5-1/8”
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: 2-3/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (Misty Moonlight pattern): 4” x 1-1/4”, punch right side using Banner Triple Punch
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Versamark, heat emboss in white and punch out using 2” Circle Punch
  • Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (dragonfly print): punch out one dragonfly using the Dragonflies Punch, add Wink of Stella to wings for sparkly detail
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (inside card): 1” x 5-1/4"
Finally a peek inside the card. I added a little strip of DSP along with some stamped images. Notice how that sentiment is popped up on a little paper strip. “Someone” stamped the sentiment inside the card crooked and that was the quick fix to salvage the cardstock. Shh, don’t tell anyone, ok?

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 15th, 2021
